Lol no, I'm just saying that if I get homesick, it's not a pain to come back and visit.

Ah, that makes more sense.

Pensacola has a dog track too! It is fun to go there and people watch. They spruced the place up a few years ago, so it lost a lot of its trashy charm, but it's still worth a visit.

We went one time, and I was wearing old Dockers shorts, sandals, and old polo shirt. I was by far the best dressed male there.

Joe Patti Seafood is another bonus. Be sure to hit the sushi place in the back.

Any military place sucks for single males not in the military unless the city is huge, which Pensacola is not. Avoid if that's something that bothers you

Try it. If the money is better, it's a job your interested in, and the career progression is there. Take it.

You can always come back home, but you'll never know what could happen if you don't try.

What's the thought process behind this. Just curious.

Large rotating influx of males skewing male/female ratio (military population is typically heavily male).

Girls who want hookups can have their pick of pretty much anything they want at any given bar and it's always changing.

College town on the other hand...

While this is certainly true, in my experience Pensacola is not terribly like this. Some areas certainly are, as the young military guys tend to gravitate to certain bars and what not. But Pensacola NAS is not a huge base nor is the one in Milton and Pensacola is a big enough city that the military by no means overwhelms it.

I have lived in Pensacola all my life. We are moving forward and our city is growing like crazy....Crime is low, and our downtown is growing and been awarded the best street in all of America. We have the best beaches and no traffic. Make the move!

After spending 3 years at LSU for college I was so ready to get back the only thing you'll miss from Louisiana is the food.

I'd agree that it'll cost you way more than 2-3k to move

Three people said this on page 1. What am I missing. Why would it cost 2-3k for a 26 year old to move 3 hours away? If he is a typical 26 year old I'm thinking maybe $200 and that includes gas..

A little more than 200, but yeah, no way it should cost him 2-3 thousand to move.

$200? A Uhaul is more than that and they are cheap, its what like 200 miles? A $1 mile plus 1 way fee plus gas will be at least $500 I bet. Where is he living? Will he have to break a lease? Moving will have to find a new place, that costs money. Moving always has all kinds of underlying costs.

Should he worry about any of those for $2-3k? Certainly not. But if his current job has a ton of growth potential and all else is equal, $2k is not worth moving for imo.
