Prove that he doesn't suck? Well, on an absolutely atrocious team he's put up decent stats and at the very least showed a lot of potential. Someone who actually knows about football and isn't named PEEJ will certainly sign him and pay him a substantial amount of money.

Hope it works out for them... I wish them luck... He hasn't showed me shite in the pros so far.. Well unless you homers want to include preseason games....

Put up decent stats? He had the worst QBR in the NFL last year and has a 16.something career QBR? Are you fricking kidding me?

Please define what "decent stats" are to you

Don't let the truth get in the way of your bias

Completing 60% of his passes for a horrendously bad team in spot duty over two years. I guess when looking at his stats as a whole, "decent" is a stretch.

That said, my point is that he's shown potential in spots to be a good career backup or spot starter. No one (in this thread at least) is saying he's a franchise QB. But I don't think it's fair given the situation he was put in to say he is a bust or "no good", "sucks", etc. especially considering where he was drafted.

Saints

I am a Saints fan, but I think Mett would do better backing up Tony Romo for a couple of years. They have arguably the best pass-blocking O-line in the NFL right now, and that would allow him to shine more, since he is not very mobile.

Look, I wanted him to be successful in Nashville. I'm one of the few LSU grads who is a Titans fan. But saying he's decent is a stretch is being nice. Every statistic says he has been bad/not good/subpar. You can defend him and his situation all you like but there is no defining statistical support for your beliefs in his ability at this level.

Edit:

he has produced the worst QBR of any quarterback with at least 10 starts since the inception of the statistic in 2006

I've said the guy has a chance to be a career backup. But that's only true if his work ethic, decision making, and pocket awareness improve.

The Titans were beyond incompetent not to trade back in last years draft like they did this year. Two drafts of supporting players would have made a world of difference for Mett.

Holy shite. How did I miss this earlier?

There has to be a hook in there somewhere. Must. Resist.

The Titans had the worst oline in the nfl last year and they had one of the worst collection of skill position players in the nfl.

The knock on him was he could not get rid of the ball quick enough

Yep. Qbs get measured by how fast the ball gets to a wr from the start of the qbs throwing motion to the reception.
Mett has always had an elongated motion but he covered it up in cfb because the windows are so much bigger in cfb.

I agree I also think he needs to be in the right offense. We all know he can't move he needs to be in a run oriented offense where he can use play action take 5 and 7 step drops and attack downfield.
