Dude. He called Mett what the rest of the world (outside of LSU fans) sees him as..... a solid backup. Your love for him is getting weird.

I think he was in an all around bad situation, but he had some faults himself. Could do him some good to go to organizations like Arizona, Pittsburgh or Kansas City and sit behind veteran quarterbacks and coaches.

quote:I don't "hate Mett". But this place is delusional when it comes to his ceiling in the NFL. He was drafted in the 6th round for a reason and was given a chance to be the starter in Tennessee. But it didn't happen.
Here comes JBeam...you've hated Mett since he's been here. Not sure what he did to piss you off, but its pretty sad the way you hate him.
Take off the P&G shades and realize that him being a career backup in the league isn't a terrible thing.

Everyone saw this coming. He hadn't showed anything to justify keeping him on the roster, and Mariotta is clearly the future there.

That team is a dumpster fire. He will latch on hopefully to a team with a good o-line and defense and take over as heir apparent. Probably Arizona, Houston, SD or Pitt

So you're going to compare Matt Cassel's numbers behind one of the best O-lines in the league, (even without Bryant) a good receiving corps when you include Jason Witten and a running game that was effective with a healthy McFadden. Put Cassel in the same boat as Mett last year and then talk. Given Mariota's durability, you'll probably get to see that at some point this year.
Mett's ceiling is probably a career backup, but he still didn't get "every chance" in Tennessee.

Hey man, that o line really did wonders...it was 29th in pass protection last year. Obviously Mett should have just gotten rid of the ball faster.

Matt Cassel was referenced only because that's who the Titans have brought in as their backup QB. Take his time in Dallas behind that very good O line out of the discussion and he still has posted QBR's of 52.3, 46.1, 46.7, and 36.7 since 2010 with the Chiefs and Vikings. It's clear to see why the Titans brought him in to compete with Mett and it didn't take them long to decide.
Sorry?
Sorry?

Sports radio here in Nashville says this was initiated by Mett's agent. Apparently headed to San Diego and get re-united with Whisenhunt, now OC at Chargers and former head coach at Titans who drafted Mett.

Who do yal think would be the best place for him to land? I'm thinking the jets or rams.
Posted on 5/16/16 at 10:28 am to Madking
Neither. Somewhere like SD, Pittsburgh... where he can sit behind a veteran and learn.

Now he can shop himself around to whoever he wants. Not worried for him, he will find a place on a roster.

This actually wouldn't be a bad move. They already have a QB with cement feet. The OL is used to it.

The knock on him was he could not get rid of the ball quick enough.
We all observed his game. not nimble in the pocket, so focused downfield, not aware of pocket issues around him.
His arm will get him a back up job.

The 0-10 pimping is hilarious. Like it's only his fault they've had the #2 and #1 pick the last two years.

I said it then, and I'll say it now. Should have been drafted ahead of Johnny Failball.

Palmers about done too that'd be sweet if he'd go to the cards.
