Well no one goes straight to the bigs.
I don't know his mind or his heart, but he's getting paid, and most likely to play a game he loves.

Zach Lee has to be the most overrated player to never have played a down for us, holy shite. He was a decent prospect, but gets so overrated around here due to his high profile baseball status.

Landon Collins. Easily.

No he actually did something in college. Lee was a prospect ranked in the 200's and by the time his MLB deadline was rolling around people had talked him up into a Heisman candidate.

Hard to remember 5 years ago, but wasn't Lee positioning himself to take the starting job?
Collins I feel was a solid contributor to Alabama, but take him away and put someone like Ronald Martin in that position and I doubt you'd have different results.
JMO.

Not really

I doubt Collins gets smoked by that Bama TE. Martin played better this year but he's not Collins.

wishful thinking due to shittiness of what we had. Tough to position yourself when you've barely practiced

5.5 million before taxes. How much would he have made had he stayed in school and been a first round NFL draft pick?
OK so he "only" banked about 2.7-3M$, the rest of your ASSUMPTION is silly--as is any statement with words like "would' 'had he," which translates to "if".
Fact is, dude has cash in the bank, not potential cash in the bank.

He should at least consider football if he doesn't make the MLB
He enrolled at LSU during the summer of 2010. That started his eligibility clock ticking of 5 years to play 4. He has 1 more college football season of eligibility left.

I did recently see an article that stated he wasn't progressing like he should and that football was still an option

I'll take your word for it, like I said, hard to remember the chatter from 5 years ago. Just remember hearing about him being heads above our incumbents in 7-on-7s... then he was gone.

I'm not suggesting they're of the same caliber, just that if you were to put Martin in there with those 10 other guys, I think you'd see very little drop-off.

Zach Lee can end up being an average MLB starter and take home just as much money as if he was one of the best QB's in the NFL
And the money will be GUARANTEED guare

Presume you mean the first play in overtime.
That was an illegal formation. Too many people lined up in the backfield.
Didn't Collins get beat for the winning TD vs Ole Miss?

collins rarely defended passes. he was toast more than he was able to cover. That was not and is not his strength.
He's a laron landry type safety. will come up and hit you in run support but can't cover.
That is a complement. laron has had a decent n.f.l. career. with that said, collins was not a eric reid, tm7, ryan clark, clinton dix, mark barron type safety.
he's more of an athlete playing the position than a true well polished/developed safety. his knowlege and skill level in the passing game is lacking.

Do you think he regrets it? Minor league career instead of an NFL opportunity
He is literally one step away from being an MLB pitcher. I think he did ok.
