He's currently listed as the 6th best prospect in the Dodgers farm system, with a projection of being a #3 or 4 starter in the bigs, and an estimated arrival time of 2016, when he will be 24. I doubt if he regrets anything yet. If he's not in the bigs by next year, then he might have regrets.

he is 23. Dude still has 3-4 years to make the majors.

Yep, plenty of time to make it, not like he has fallen back in his classification.

I pretty sure you are right and that his clock started running 4 years ago. The summer courses wouldn't have counted against him as long as he didn't do either of two things. I think he did both.

quote:

(a) The individual officially registers and enrolls in a minimum full-time program of studies and attends classes in any term of a four-year collegiate institution's regular academic year (excluding summer); or

(b) The individual participates in a regular squad practice or competition at a four-year collegiate institution that occurs before the beginning of any term; or (Revised: 1/11/89, 1/10/90)

(c) The individual officially registers and enrolls and attends classes during the summer prior to initial enrollment. (Adopted: 4/28/05, Revised: 1/17/09)

He's actually having a very successful baseball career to this point. I don't get why everybody acts like he's struggling in the minors

Because he is Texan and hasnt taken the Kershaw trajectory of being a dominant regular season pitcher and a choke artist in the playoffs....but his time will come.

He's 23 on the 40 man.

He regrets nothing. Give me a break. Too many of you put LSU football way too high on a pedestal

what would be worse is his committing to Alabama and completely humiliating us for three years

Your nickname must be Ray of Sunshine.

If someone chose a school, why would they only choose Bama?

Also, just because someone plays at Bama, you don't have to fear their success.

If you have not yet been stamped, here it is

BAMACESSED

worse, you are $h!+ scared.

How much would he have made had he stayed in school and been a first round NFL draft pick?

If you fail to make it in MLB, how likely are you to be a first round draft pick in NFL?

Such players are tool old. Unless they have incredible 2,3 years in college, they may hold the clipboard for a while and start a football academy somewhere.

Brandon Wheeden anyone?

5.5 million before taxes. How much would he have made had he stayed in school and been a first round NFL draft pick?

Johnny Football got a total contract of $8.2 million, Bridgewater's contract was for $6.8 million.

So taking $5.5 million four years ago was by far the smart play.

I'm not sure that is possible. He enrolled at LSU. If he enrolled full-time that would have started his eligibility clock during which he would have 5 years to play 4. His 5 year period will expire before he completes his baseball contract.

The 5 to play 4 rule applies to Division I, so he could possibly return to football at Division II or III level.

At some point he might regret his decision. Who cares, Zach got a great deal of money and whether he does or not will not have any impact on LSU football.

If Martin & Collins played one on one in basketball: Martin easy win. Baseball: Martin. Pass break-ups/PD: Martin. 40yds: Collins Covering slots WR: Martin. Knowledge of the game: Martin. Only fresh DB to play 2011 13-1 team: Martin.

I must agree not too much of a drop off right? In fact top 10 tackler 2012-13 least reps. Top 5 this year "Martin"
