Dwayne Schintzius & Vernon Maxwell beat Tigers in 1988last home game depriving LSU & Chris Jackson an SEC title. Fans pelted the floor with debris
'89 and they were tennis balls.
In a weeknight game when Florida and Vandy played, Vanderbilt might have won the SEC that season had their fans not acted like asses and thrown tennis balls near the end of regulation at Schintzius. Barry Booker and Derrek Wilcox were waving their arms trying to get the fans to stop. T was called on the crowd. Schintzius could hit FT's and sent the game to OT. That's right...Vandy had the damn lead! Then, LSU gave it ago, but the Gators did the same to us...the game was put away because again...tennis balls. Had Dwayne never assaulted another human being witha tennis racket, Florida might have finished 3rd or 4th that year instead of 1st.
Sidenote -- 1989 was a tremendous year for the SEC and some fun players like CJ, Literial Green, Barry Booker, Robert Horry, Livingston Chatman, Deion Nix, and Melvin Cheatum all played simultaneously in the league -- but did you know that Alabama, Florida, Vanderbilt, LSU, and Tennessee all lost in the first round of the NCAA Tourney that year?

Thanks for the reminder they were tennis balls.
Schintzius was one of the most despised players to ever play in the Assembly Center or in the SEC for that matter. Also the prick who played for Tennessee under Bruce Pearl about 10 years ago, saw him as an SEC analyst last year.
Hooker for Mississippi State was a villain who tried to trip an LSU player from the bench, as was Marshall Henderson for Ole Miss and Joakim Noah. There have been a few rogues playing in the PMAC over the years.

I was also at this debacle. Horrible ending to a season after going to the Final Four the previous year.

I was at this game in Nashville. Saw the one tennis ball that trickled across the court that was the final straw and got the T called on Vandy. Sort of felt bad for them, which I had a lot of chances to do over the years.

I think The year we beat Marquette we had a shot at the tourney, but we got dismantled @ ole miss and Tennessee beat us in OT @ home. After that Tenn game I grew to hate Trent Johnson

I forget the date, but it was near the end of the Brady era. We were getting slammed by another mid-level SEC team. Brady is acting all bipolar. Tack Minor is slapping Brady on the arse. I had threatened to bring a paper bag to wear over my head and finally did it that night. Well, wife got embarrassed and went sat somewhere else. Meanwhile, another fan a few seats over states he'd be glad to wear the paper bag in protest of Brady's garbage so I could get my wife back. Told him thanks anyway but felt it was more important to shoulder the burden of disgust myself than to appease my wife. AAAAIIIIEEEEE!

Todd Day dropping 40+ a couple of years earlier was also pretty bad. I couldn't stand that Arkansas team.
that was '92. he put up 43 that game. there was nothing anyone could do. those Arkansas squads were incredible.

losing 64-62 to a bad Georgia team---just after getting whipped by duke in '92.
It was a sick feeling seeing Charles Claxton win the battle in the paint while Kendall Rhine buried trey after trey from the outside. ugly ugly game.

I agree they were incredible...it was just miserable watching Day keep scoring.

Worst: Van Halen concert 1984. You could tell those dudes didn't like each other anymore.
Second worst: LSU vs Duke in early 90s with Christian Laetner scoring against Shaq and Stanley Robertson

Once read the rant while setting in the PMAC. Does that count?

Yes. I want to say we lost that game by about 111-101. We weren't bad offensively, but no answer for Day and he dunked on the last play of the game, if I recall. The May-Day teams with Oliver Miller and the early ones with Mario Credit...they were just insanely good...better, IMO, than the '94 NC team.
That '91 UNLV/Arkansas game in Fayetteville is on Youtube. It was one helluva game.

1986 NCAA tourney. Beat Purdue in Double OT then 2 days later beat Memphis St on an Anthony Wilson put-back at the buzzer.
