I don't understand why some on here want to keep defending what is obvious to me that have been gonig to games since 1971. I gave up my seats before last season because I got tired of paying for watching trash. LSU basketball was EVERYTHING to me.

you gave up seats before last season??? as in, we had just won a conference championship, and then you gave up your seats because that was considered trash to you? good call....

Another fricking retarded thread. If Jared Sullinger came out of fricking Baton Rouge Louisiana, and we missed on him, I would be pissed, and I would place a lot of blame on him for missing on in-state recruits.

He hasn't had anything to hit...or miss for that matter.

Just like I was pissed when we missed on Von Wafer, Greg Monroe, Lacedarius Dunn, etc.

Ohio produces NBA talent on a yearly basis. Trent doesn't have that luxury. He's in the middle of a basketball talent drought in Louisiana.

I guess that is why Muldrow is 3rd in scoring. Ellington is averaging 5 more than Muldrow.

It is year 3 for TJ, he should have a system to plug fr into, but he doesn't b/c his recruting blows. Bass,Dotson, Ludwig and White are all below average sec players.

there aren't any freshmen in La. to recruit. We've gotten the best player in La the last 2 seasons. They just aren't all league caliber guys...

Ignorant argument?

He KNOWS he can win with 6 players - point proven. Why can't TRENT recruit 6 players in 3 years that can win games?

Answer that question?

I agree with you 100%. Most of these idiots, watch one basketball game a year and stick to drooling about football.

It's a much different recruiting landscape than football. A coach can't sign 25 players a year and live off of six or seven who make meaningful contributions. Basketball doesn't afford coaches with that luxury, you might, might get to sign four players in a class. Coaches either go after one and dones who wind up hurting the program more in the long run, or rebuild slowly. If you miss on the prize recruit, you can settle on a lesser recruit and build him over four or five years.

Indiana is in the same boat, we're in now (with more sanctions) and they are one of the best basketball programs in history. I doubt even the most ardent IU fans are calling for Tom Crean's firing, because they know he's a fantastic coach. Oklahoma has had decent success in the past and are the worst team in the Big XII.

I'm a football fan too, but basketball is my favorite LSU sport. We don't have the power, or the massive crowds to lure a Chicago kid to come to school a thousand miles away at the moment.

he's gotten 2 four stars from Mississippi who appear to be pretty good players and a 3 star from Alabama that is also looking like a fine player.

Man this thread is like rantard 101.

1) Make stupid points.
2) Solid use of strawman, hyperbole, etc
3) Label any facts that refute your argument as "excuses".

This was a fricking embarassment. At some point don't players with some heart forget about the coaches and do something on their own to score?

When I played ball and things were going bad we forgot about the 'game plan' and tried to make our own comeback when its a blow-out good coaches understand that and realize the 'gameplan' isnt working and declares marshall law.

What the frick

One of the reasons Dale Brown recruited so widely was he was a good motivational speaker and also was involved with a lot of charitable causes. As he traveled he met people, made friends--contacts and learned of players others did not know about-

TJ does not have that type of personality and it is going to be difficult for him to recruit beyond our region in the South.

TJ needs a publicist
