Yes, people noticed the sparse crowd

I know this topic has been discussed ad nauseam, but I read this on ESPN's recap of the game, and thought it was worth sharing. It's really kind of embarrassing that the small size of the crowd was considered worthy of mention.
"Arden Key's sack of Jarrett Stidham with 2 seconds left squelched Auburn's last hope of an improbable comeback, sending the volume in Tiger Stadium about as high as it has been this season despite an unusual number of empty seats visible for a competitive SEC game."

It is shameful that our fans can't be more supportive. We are 5 and 2 w wins over two ranked teams the last two weeks.
We are Not the fans we should to our players.
Go to the game. Stay until the end.

There were a bunch of empty seats because half the people were in the concourses under the seats in the shade.

I stayed till the end in the southeast corner, but it was HOT! The man in front of me witnessed a middle aged guy (there with his grandson) pass out in line for concessions. This was happening all around. We were down 20 at one point, and I am not going to point fingers at folks for leaving early.

The west side of the stadium was packed. The east side was very sparse because half the fans were near heat stroke.

Tigercard, did you go to the game?

Whats their faces on cbs mentioned it several times, but also said how loud it was.
Dude it was hot
And homestly, i would rather 80000 die hards than 100000 bandwagoners

Honestly, I figured there would be some shite in the press about this....so at one point late in the game, I looked around and made a mental note about just how many people were actually left at the game. I am on the west side and didn't see many people missing at all, considering the temp at game time. The east side did get a little thin by the end of the game, but that was after those folks had had the sun directly in their faces for nearly 4 hours.
I think anyone who complains about the folks that attended that game is pretty unrealistic about what to expect at an outdoor event in 95 degree weather...

Quit having 2:30 games when it’s 90+ degrees. Nobody wants to sit thru that shite!

Well, considering that I live in Cleveland, no I wasn't at the game. But for what it's worth, I was pacing back and forth in front of my TV the entire time and scaring my wife and daughters anytime we did something good. When I was at LSU (78-81), I was at every game, and in recent years I've been able to get to a few.

Everything's gonna be o.k. Embarrassed?? Seriously???That's ridiculous.

It doesn’t matter if LSU is undefeated. Corporations have bought up tons of tickets and bring clients and employees (many are not even LSU fans) to these games. They get bored or find that the stadium experience is less comfortable than watching at a tailgate or home and leave. You also still have a huge traffic problem after every game. Most sit in that traffic every day during the week and prefer not to do it on their day off. I don’t think we will ever see the old atmosphere of tiger stadium again. To continuously bitch and moan about it solves nothing.

I have been going to LSU games for a long time and it was one of the funnest times I've had there. Not because we won a championship or anything like that. But to hear all the crap said about our players and coaches and then to see them respond the way the did .... man, what a game!!!!!

I sat next to a couple of Detroit fans at the Saints game today. They went to the LSU game yesterday and said it was the best football experience they have ever had. They said Michigan and Ohio State games don't compare. So small crowd size or not, Death Valley still has it.
