....Talent wise its definatly mett but right now JJ knows the offense better...and you guys do you know their was no blitzing during the spring game right....

I'm basing my preference on JJ's "body of work" versus what I saw in the spring game from Mett and what he did with his team last year. The decision is quite simple actually. I'm fine with JJ starting, as long as he is on a very short leash.

JJ will have to lose at least 3 games before Les lets Mett see the field. Boy he loves him some JJ!

9-14, no real shots downfield, pretty good 2 minute drill. did have the one int that was bad. i thought J lee played the best. outside of the numbers.

Well yeah if you base it off of last year then yeah JJs play was very poor. The positives I saw JJ make some throws that he would have not been able to make this time last year which shows me Krag will have him prepared by fall.....ex the touch he put on the lob...He also put the ball in some good spots but T simon made some great plays on them because I think he has their timing down.

Mett does look like more of a natural QB no doubt but you can tell he has not grasp the offense by being nervous for ex where he had trouble knowing where the RB was.....His deep ball and quick passing is no where JJ will be.

This is all the proof I need to decide everyone saw what they wanted to see from the scrimmage. Meaning everyone let their agendas decide who played the best and should be our starter. I thought JJ looked good until his thumb was hit, then he looked pretty damn poor. Mett showed some flashes of what I think will be an All-SEC QB. He also showed flashes of a player that is in his first year with a program. (Honestly I'm most excited about Mett, I just want to be sure he is ready) Lee showed exactly what he has showed since he has been here. He is the complete Jekyl and Hyde football player. He throws a nice completion, then he throws a pass that reminds you he has some of the worst decision making ever seen. I was by far the least impressed with him and I think he is where he needs to be, and that is third string.

I had to step back from it all and just come to terms that I should accept whoever is under center Sept. 3rd. I will support to the fullest whoever that is. I do feel much better going into the season and honestly believe if Mett keeps improving, and JJ stays the same, it won't take 3 losses to see a change. Miles wants to win and while we don't always agree with his decisions, I believe he makes them with the intent that they give his Tigers the best possible chance of winning now and in the future.

this game will be about running the ball and stopping their run attack.
-----------------------
this

Miles will play "keep away"..minimizing their lightning fast offensive attack. He'll grind it out on the ground and wear them down. Our personnel will beat them down over the course of the game. This wont be a pretty win but thats the formula to beat Oregon as Auburn showed last year.

JJ matches up better against OR with the ability to run and we cant doubt his game play when he has more than 2 weeks to prepare for a team.

Maybe it is not what Mett. did so much as what JJ and Lee did. Have you seen their stats for the game?

Agree with your first point but don't let stats mislead you. Take away Mett's 60yd bomb vs third string D and his stats are mediocre. Take away Simon's two all world pass breakups and JJ's aren't that bad. Not saying JJ is all SEC but he WILL move/manage the offense better than a first year guy (unless you think he's Cam or want to count JC as a year). Of course there's not much rationale on this hokey trollboard.

The only good thing JL had in that game was the 2 minute drill. JL is so inconsistent it's ridiculous. He's more inconsistent than JJ imo. At least you know JJ can't throw worth a shite. JL makes some really nice throws, then will make a really poor decision and get picked or just make you scratch your head. I also saw JL make a throw to a receiver that hit the ground about 5 yards in front of the receiver that was wide open. There's a reason JL is not starting, believe it or not.

In a JJ vs. JL debate, JJ and JL are both wildly inconsistent. The one thing JJ has over JL is his legs. He can run when the play breaks down and he can run some draws and such. JL is a passing QB that just can't seem to make good decisions or maintain good mechanics when pressure is on.

Mett is most certainly the future and our starter next season. I agree that if you take away the 60 yard bomb that his stats are mediocre, but that bomb was impressive. I promise you JJ, and probably not JL, could have made that throw. He threw it into the wind and it was right on the money.

How do you know what mountains look like Boudreaux. Your Indian mounds don't count. For purposes of educating yourself--go look at the film.
