I thought Mett's TD pass was against the #3 defense. No?

They may have had some 3's mixed in but it was the first play of the 3rd Q so I doubt it was all 3's. He was on the purple team and almost all 1's were on White.

This whole 1s 2s and 3s is bullshite. 15 players sat out!!! Some played for both teams, including mett. Besides no, he did not score against the ones. Jj lead the first scoring drive against a team that will resemble the ones minus the linebackers. People are getting worked up over one pass in the spring game. No doubt mett is going to play. But jj is starting come oregon. People who think mett will start are as delusional as the people who thought lee would start last year.

Eta: for the idiots, once again there is no such things as one and 2s. I have nit seen one player play everydown possible in the past few years save peterson. He prob would have if not for cramps. A team like lsu wins games cuz we rotate people out. Tyraan may even be 3rd on the depth chart technically, but I would consider him a starter.

I don't totally disagree with you but I can't accept that we don't lose anything when a starter goes down and the backup comes in. Essentially, that's what you're saying.

All I know is that this board is going to be unbearable come September and we lose to Oregon with JJ playing the entire game and us only scoring 13 points

Could they at least put one of those tinted shields and prohibit him from taking of his helmet during the game? I'm so sick of seeing that "I don't understand what the frick just happened" look!

Please Please tell me what did everyone see Mett do that makes him the starter---a couple of lazer throws in coverage--fine--I could make that td throw to Boone--show nuff, he'll be da man one day but now? I think not. Certainly a 4 star QB can start in the SEC with no D1 experience---signed Jarrett Lee. Wake up trolls!

Maybe it is not what Mett. did so much as what JJ and Lee did. Have you seen their stats for the game?

Im just trying to get a point across. This whole jj played 1st string o against 2nd team d and then vice versa for the other qbs is false. I even read a post about miles conspiracy to try and make jj look better by letting him throw with the wind at his back and the other qbs didn't.

Just example of people being idiots. Makes me think they didn't even watch the Damn spring game.

I could make a case that none of them played against our 1st string safety, de or mike lb. And that neither offense played with our 1st string rb

Miles is a loyalist.

And should be applauded for it.

In todays world of multi million dollar coaches Les Freakin Miles epitimizes what the college football experience should be about.

Having said that.....if we lose because JJ plays poorly I for one will stupidly want Lesters Head.

It was the SPRING GAME! With vanilla, scaled back offense..who cares about Spring Game stats.... the question here is not wether Mett eventually starts or if he will be a better QB than Jefferson....its wether or not you want him to start right now-as in week one-and considering he has exactly no D1 starts under his belt and opens against top 5 team....no matter how good he looks in Fall practice or friggin Spring Game....I say no.

Even though JJ played bad last year during the spring game too, I still dont look into the spring game very much.....No one is going 100%.

positives on JJ the first few passes I dont think he could have made those in previous years for example the lob he threw to the left.....actually had some touch on it and ive rarely seen that from him.

Another couple passes he did he put them better than he usually has but Simon made some great stops to prevent them...Who do you think is going to go harder...randle and JJ or Simon....Simon needed to go 100%.

and whoever said they could have made that deep bomb that Mett thew is ridiculous....if you have an arm like that you should try to walk on.

Mett will be a great one but depending on what he does this summer he still has alot of learning to do.

So the quarterback position will be hotly discussed this summer.

Definitely

That was probably going to be the case anyway. But after Jefferson's 4 of 14 passing performance against the second team defense, it's now a certainty.

Didn't help.

I was answering a question. My answer is still correct. I for one have said the JJ looked ok in the spring game. I was happy with how he played. The problem people have with JJ is one of his better games is when he has stats of 4 of 14.

Not sure what your point is but I was saying people are making too much of Spring Game stats...the offense is scaled back and the defense has the advantage of being very familiar with certain plays/looks the offense runs already. Do I think JJ looked all that great? No. Do I think Mett should start just because JJ went 4 for 14 in game? No.

I cant believe this debate, everybody knows that Mett is the better QB and to act like he is straight out of high school is bullshite. The guy can play the position and he can play it better than JJ can

When I saw Mett scramble, I knew we finally had a complete QB on the roster again.
