Sit down and be quiet. I don't want a qb with zero d1 starts to go up against a defense in the first game that will literally blitz from everywhere. Is he ready for that? I doubt it.

Last thing we need is to have some quick turnovers in a huge game like this. JJ will get the start.

If you don't want quick turnovers in a game like Oregon, why are you so sure JJ can avoid that?

Did I say he could avoid it? No....I didn't. At least JJ has seen what could be thrown at him......at sec speed at that.

And has failed miserably.

I'm not here saying Mett should start game 1. Infact I think JJ should start, but I'm not happy with it. And by the summers end I honestly think (maybe hope) Mett has the tools and knowledge to be a better QB. Regardless if he's faced any SEC defenses yet.

I agree but at this point we're stuck imo. The summer wont be enough imo.

Considering Mett has been through more than 1 SEC camp and has competed against SEC competition in practice I think he could do it....

It isn't like the dude is a true freshman stepping out on the field... and he played against a competition last year that is higher than the high school level

Experience, particularly in this case, may be more of a negative than a positive.

I realize all that. If anyone thinks I'm happy about the qb position you're wrong but there's no point in fighting what's going to inevitably happen.

I agree. If your experience is royally screwing the pooch, is that really helpful?

Again....I agree but we all know mett wont be shoved into the limelight of what could be the game of the year. Plain and simple.....this game will be about running the ball and stopping their run attack.

I'm not fighting it, but it also doesn't mean I have to be excited about it.

Thats fricking dumb! He should be loyal to ALL players who pledged their loyalty to him. If you promise Mett he will play if he is the best qb, then he should play because Miles should be loyal to his word....Screw years with team bullshite. I pay to see the best players play, period!

has mett done something to to make you believe he cant hand the ball off? i know there was one miscue in the scrimmage, but hes also working with the 2nd/3rd teams in practice. im sure working with the 1s will help everyone stay in the same page...

I'm sitting back with Mett or bust. However, I don't really care who plays QB as long as we win.

Mettenberger will get his chance, but he has to earn it. Miles isn't going to "crown" him in the spring. Making Mett fight for the starting role, heck, event backup role will only make him better.

Im all for Mett but ill be fine with JJ but I think its pretty dumb for everyone to look at the spring game and automatic give him the reigns....Talent wise its definatly mett but right now JJ knows the offense better...and you guys do you know their was no blitzing during the spring game right....

Also you think miles is going to risk throwing mett in play and risk what happend to Jlee and mess up his confidence?
