Would you rather be in a "better" bowl against a worse team?

Why do people care about the name of the bowl and the payout? You don't see the money anyway. And with SEC splits, it doesn't matter. Clemson vs. LSU is a great game, and not in shitty Orlando or Jerryworld. I promise I'm jealous of the bowl. I don't want to play OU in an overrated stadium that we have never won at.

It's not the name or the payout. It's being passed over, under the influence of the conference office, by two teams with the same record, both of whom LSU beat.

That said, I'll be there.

Lsu only splits a portion of the bowl payout.
Money is involved.

I promise you there is a lot more to do in "Shitty Orlando" than in Atlanta.

I really don't buy this argument which has been made over and over again.

AM was the obvious pick for the Cotton. Heisman trophy winner, hottest team which beat Bama and has looked impressive since, former Big 12 team coming back to play Big 12 powerhouse in the heart of the Big 12.

As a general rule, if pretty much all is equal, Florida bowls will pick an East team over West.

Jerryworld is a pretty decent establishment. I mean didn't it cost billions?

If you followed the bowl selection process, you'll know that the Capital One Bowl had already made its choice in A&M. The Cotton was choosing LSU. But the SEC stepped in to protect Georgia from falling to Atlanta. The dominoes fell and LSU fell to Chick Fil A.

Bowls select the team it wants. But the SEC stepped in this year for no good reason.

If it meant playing in the Sugar bowl, I'd trade places with FL in a heartbeat.

These days, the status of any bowl that has LSU is elevated. There are however pros and cons to New Years Eve in Atlanta.

But, I am for sure looking more forward to our game than if we were playing N. Illinois or Louisville.

The BCS messed up trying to be inclusive of non-BCS conference schools. Now fans are stuck with crappy BCS bowl games every season. So what if 3-4 teams from one conference get in.

LSU & OU is better than Clemson.

A&M & Clemson is better than OU.

A BCS bowl win is one of those things you list when talking about your program's accomplishments. After an NC, an SECCG, you are most likely to talk about your BCS bowl wins as they are 'elite' bowl games.

The peach bowl or chic fila or whatever just isn't the same. LSU has very little to gain in this bowl game. I tried convincing myself of otherwise but have not been able to do so. And i consider myself a sunshine pumper for the most part.

I don't disagree. But I don't see FSU gaining much either by crushing N. Illinois.

In the end it's football fans in general who lose having those crappy BCS match ups to choose from.
