That's not even the original video. THIS is: LINK

So I don't really think "that guy narrating" started it but rather the description from this original video did. But the other guy is funny with some of his comments directly describing TM7!

Would you like to be called the honey badger?
Nah. It'll be something cool like your initials and your TD signup date.

That cool with you TM6?

You do realize that Honey Badgers are a type of weasel? Rats and weasels aren't even in the same Order...

That the irony....the "honey" badger is considered the most fearless animal around.

"honey badger" doesn't give a shite---he just rules.

The dye job kind lends itself to the HB look

No, the popular video that started it was the video with Randall the "annoying narrator." The video you linked has the original footage, but is not the big hit that the randall video is.

The original video of the honey badger and descriptions that relate directly to TM7:

1. Little beast
2.Guiness Book of World Records: most fearless animal in world
3. Distincive trot
4. "All" are consumed by this animal
5. Incredibly tenacious
6. Hunts constantly; barely resting between kills
7. Powerful, muscular build
8. Powerful Claws for digging; breaking open nests of potential prey (balls in TM's case)
9. Even the frantic fury of bee stings won't stop him
10. Attracts quite a following-groupies
11. Willing & able to snatch a meal right out the mouth of a snake (didn't he do this to Debose this weekend? )
12. Opponent strikes back but it isn't enough to deter the HB

Nothing gay or cheesy about it. For a fierce, competitive football player....what's not to love about this nickname?

Not sure if he likes it or not, but the national media and sports world along with TM7 of course and randall's yt video, has made many people aware of this aggressive animal and TM7's aggressive style of play.

Ever since the comparison, a national commercial evolved due to this phenomenom. It even connected TM7 to Ed Reed during a national televised prime time NFL game when Al Michael uttered "the NFL version of the honey badger". ESPN, CBS, Fox and other networks has mentioned "honey badger" numerous times.

The Wisconsin Badgers (not a honey badger, but a badger nonetheless) are so far having a dream season. Maybe this is the year of the badgers.

The "honey badger" fever may even help contribute to a very rare defensive heisman trophy winner. If TM7 starts playing human-like or average, then maybe the "honey badger" nickname may fade away. As of right now, it is all positive.

I understand that but where do you think the "annoying narrator" got his information from? The Randall video is a big hit b/c he used slang to describe what the original did. But isn't it the description that links the animal (HB) with the animal (TM)......?

Then you're a fool.

TM7 isconstantly talked about on ESPN by his Honey Badger moniker along with the phrases that go with it: he don't care and he takes what he wants.

The Honey Badger don't care that you're an idiot. He takes what he wants. Including chicks!

If I were nicknamed after the most ferocious animal on earth, and people started printing T-shirts with my nickname on it and they sold so many that you had to wait for one, I would be OK with that...HONEYBADGER TAKES WHAT HE WANTS!!

It is a shame that TM7 doesn't like the nickname.

Not only will it never go away, if he continues to make great plays at the same rate he has been, the nickname will continue to get him much more press than he would normally have gotten...as someone else pointed out:

a little info. regarding the Honey Badger, it is a member of the weasel family, badgers, wolverines, sabel, otter, martin, fisher, mink are all members of the weasel family. They are the most powerful animals pound per pound on the planet. They often times kill just for the sake of killing. They are relentless in their pursuit and fearless, they kill prey much larger than themselves on a regular basis. Comparing a Honey Badger to a snake eating rat shows ignorance. they kill cobras ten feet long and then eat them. Get stung by hundreds of killer bees to rob the honey. I think it is the perfect nickname for T7
