So a twitter message means more than an actual video? I still don't get it, why would he hate it now when he liked it before?

I agree. It may eat snakes and run around carelessly but it is lower on the food chain and prey. I am not saying that the name does nit unify people or help his heismam cause. I am just saying that as a nickname( in and of itself) it is kInda silly.

I bet you also hate:

"Refrigerator" Perry
Walter Payton "Sweetness"
Dick "Night Train" Lane
"Juice" Simpson
"Too Tall" Jones
"Broadway" Joe Namath

Not sure why people think this when there's THIS: LINK out there

I think it's because the television announcers on Saturday's game said he didn't really like it but he accepted it. IIRC of course.

Every objector is crying over the word "honey". If it was called "Cobra Badger" we wouldn't be having the conversation.

Lighten up people. This is getting LSU national attention, people love it. It gets women interested in games. Just let it go.

Sure, once I recognized that it's part of the reason that every sports commentator and writer in the country is mentioning me. That video is both funny and badass at the same time, which gives them a hook for their story. TM7 is amazing and would be getting recognition no matter what, but I think the fact that this nickname is approrpriate (takes what he wants, doesn't give a sh*t), and also has a bit of a humorous angle to it has really helped him as far as being mentioned CONSTANTLY.

deon sanders once said that he had to market himself to get recognition. so, he named himself primetime. it worked. so, to answer your question, they could call me shithead if they wanted to as long as i get recognition, it worked.

This.

Tyrann has a national branding now

The association of the honey badger and a national commercial for the pistachios is free advertising.

2011 is the year of the honey badger

Folks without a goofy nickname are people who are not loved. If you love em, you'll eventually give them a good name. "Honey Badger" has given TM a tremendous push in national exposure. Don't mess with something that is going viral.

I would not like to be named after a snake eating rat....just saying

Would you idiots please stop with this stuff? The Honey Badger name has generated even more excitement for him, on top of his outstanding play. That's never a bad thing.

It's really not. It's been explained 1000 times.

It's good for national exposure.

he's more like " Tyranical Tyrann" or Tyrann the Terror" or "Tyrann the Terrible", maybe these probably would have even set in with him a little quicker. In New Orlean the old guys probably just say "hey Tyrant"
