I am on the side that wanted a change. I was disappointed and pissed. Now with that being said, sometimes the best deal is one you can walk away from. For whatever reason this didn't work out. Maybe either way 2016 is the final one for him. Apparently retirement discussions were had according to "sources" in the "know". If he loses 3-4 i think they'll have the gonads to do it at that point.
Maybe it will be worth the wait for TH to have another year under belt as an HC. Or who knows who else may develop into a viable replacement. Let me throw this one out. TM at USM.
Now that there's been time to reflect maybe JF wasn't going to be a home-run. Maybe the excitement for him was just that the current would be gone not that he was going to seriously upgrade the program.

Jimbo would rock at LSU.
I'm heart sick...
It's hard to get excited about Miles football.
That's the reality of his coaching style or philosophy.
I thought Harris would become a rock star...with Cam...
We're cursed...all arrows point to Les Miles

An up and coming coach from Southern Miss? How could that possibly go wrong?

Exactly! Hallman anyone?

Oh please. TM isn't some redneck former Bear player that got a coaching job just because he played for the Bear.
He was OKSUs OC, coached WRs for the Jags for 5 years, has the USM offense ROLLING. Just sayin.

If Saban and CLM retire around the same time, LSU will be in a great position to hire a new HC. No reason to get in a hurry imo.

Agreed. This whole deal was rushed after getting whipped by Arkansas. So only 2 weeks really to get the sH^% together. The leak is what made it such a cluster. It could have all been going on behind the scenes with maybe a little chatter of LM may be on the hot seat. I think they'll learn from this and they'll be a lot of coaches thinking the LSU job may be open in 2017. The warning shot has definitely been fired.
