With it being Christmas I was just hoping that the players could all be with family and friends. I guess some might not be able to afford it. That part of going out of state has to suck.

The few I follow on twitter said that they were headed home. Some of them live in Texas.

That's what GA rental cars are for.

anybody who can't make it home will get invited to have Christmas with some other player or coach's family. Nobody will be alone unless they want to be.

I am not saying you are wrong but I bet the NCAA has some heavy guidelines on spending holidays with a coach.

I remember a team getting in trouble because a coach bought a player a hamburger on a recruiting trip. I also remember another time where a coach bought a player a ticket home to attend his mothers' funeral. The NCAA came unglued at that.

Are there any compliance wizards here?

I'm pretty sure it's okay for a player to go to a coach's house. Marcus Spears used to fish in Saban's pond.

I remember hearing about Spears fishing at Sabans house as well.

They do still have a Airport in BR. Pretty sure they all knew what there time off would be and you can fly anywhere in the country if planned for $400 or less. I am sure if they want to go home there friends & family would have come up with the money

Incorrect statement. I am yet to find a $400 plane ticket to NOLA from Hawaii and have been looking for about 6 months.

They all get a travel stipend. Louisiana players get gas money, out of state players get money for a plane ticket

Serious with the stipend info? Never heard that before for travel.

Didn't Van Chancellor have players over for THanksgiving before? I know that I've heard stories about this type thing.

What player would have to travel the furthest?
