Because every other penalty gives the team being penalized an advantage the skewed the play!

an offensive lineman taking a cheap shot or something 30 yards away from the ball carrier doesnt give an advantage, but it would negate the TD

My thought after seeing the penalty and watching the replay is that the refs were preparing us for the arse-rapng we're going to get from them the first weekend in November. Go ahead and say BOHICA.

They want to call that taunting, fine. But the rule change is completely illogical. Something that has no effect on the outcome of the play, that involves no contact, nulls what happened on the field. It should be on the kickoff like before.

But it could impact the play no matter how unlikely it would be.

How did Wing saying come at me mate give an unfair advantage to LSU?

It doesn't, but it is being unsportsmanlike.

If this happened to Florida's punter people would be wanting his head for being disrespectful to LSU players.

Mark May just said it was a BS call and they need to change the rule. It's taking the fun out of the game. Players need to be able to enjoy the game.

And I was paraphrasing, of course

it wouldnt impact the play

what about a WR not being on the line and a TD gets called back due to illegal formation? does the WR being 3 inches closer to the line really affect the play?

I don't like the call. A rule is a rule. However, that was a horse collar tackle on Ware, I don't give a rip what Danielson said, that Spenser was turning helping the cause. The gayturd was reaching for the collar before Spencer attempted to spin. Then the gayturd gives the sign of cut throat after the play. There was no call on either. That is SEC officials at their best. The hat said it was a good call. You can bet that Dooley and Will would never admit that.

Yes, it could, my point is that their is no possible way that taunting can affect the penalized team in a positive manor, unlike any other rule in the rulebook.
Eta: that isnt a dead ball foul.

You can enjoy the game by celebrating with your teammates, not be taunting the opposition.

If this were the other way and the Florida punter did it and it wasn't called everyone on here would be throwing a fit.

Bubble screen and the defender gets blocked because of the extra space he creates, or the cornerback has to adjust to the possibility of that play being called.

Get some class. Whoop their arse quietly and go on to the next game. Bush league move in my opinion.
