So because he throws a better deep ball we would win the game?

No where in my post I said we win the game. I think we had like 35 yards of offense in the second half in that case you try everything.

6-19 last year throwing, but he did give us a running dimension.

You have to be able to take advantage of anything you have in the arsenal; in a tied game in the 4th quarter, when your offense is still sitting at 100 yds total for the game, you need to be open to any option. The game was there for the taking, if you make the right move. Not saying we would win or Harris would work out, but he was worth a try for a series.

totally agree and agree with most of your response except that harris is a good runner because he is not.

Did you see Harris self destruct last year at Bama? Did you see Harris implode vs. Wisconsin this year?

So you think that that brain-dead style of play was going to improve vs. Bama? Based upon what evidence?

Harris is a Sunbelt talent on a major SEC team. He never should have been here. He simply is not good enough. Period.

So if Harris is good enough, what does that say about Etling who it was proven factually that he was worse than Harris?

If Harris is Sunbelt Etling belongs at Pearl River C.C. Period. He has proven week after week that he can do no better and worse that Harris. Facts are facts. If it's not Harris that deserved a shot, then one of the others should have gotten a shot.

I am being kind when I say that Harris can't read a defense. Harris is just not that bright.
Harris also has zero touch on the ball. Zero.

He got zero reps! DE was Turrible! Harris can atleast evade the rush and attempt to make a play down field. DE noodle arm was on full display against Bama and has been most of the season.

Do you resurrecting his qb career in the Bama game would have elevated him to a NFL career?

Ask an NFL scout about his mechanics...

As good as Hurts looks...I don't think he will make it in the NFL

Threads like this make me wonder what the "players only" meeting was really about????

Our problem wasn't QB play but rather O Line play.
This. The Bama pass rush was on him in a blink.

I just think they should have tried. But going off coach os comments, they feel Danny us the guy. Maybe Harris hasnt been doing his part since the switch to prove he deserves another shot.

Two of Brandon's best performances came as a substitute. Maybe it's just a pressure thing. Well we can't suck any worse so I'm just going to go out there and sling it.

It's the footwork. It's awful. Whether it's that he doesn't care or that gets so worked up in game situations that he's not able to execute it, who knows. It's without a doubt what's held him back.

The problem extended past just the OL play. It also included QB, game planing, and lack of adjustments.

Lmao. Evade a rush? Harris has zero picket presence and goes down from a loud fart. This is unreal. To you, this is black and white. Etling had a bad game, I'd still take him 100% of the time based upon overall play this year, and the fact that he does move around in the pocket and can make presnap reads and progress.

I agree with Harris's touch or lack of. But not ready to say he is not bright. What are you basing that off?

I'll take that noodle arm all day over a qb with no touch and can't hit the broad side of a barn, and has poor leadership skills. I know you mad though your boy is on the bench.

Etling has played better than Harris this year, no doubt. The thinking is that the play calling in BH's first game may have contributed to his bad play. So, some just kinda want to see if BH can develop more under a new regime. In Etling, the growth trajectory isn't going up. He is at his peak. MAYBE BH can develop into a better QB and then give us a better option at QB. Not stating this as if I have a crystal ball...simply as the OP stated- why not Harris? Why not give him a series or two? Let the competition begin now for next year.

BH has proven over a period of about 15 games that he is extremely inaccurate, has no pocket presence, poor leadership, poor mechanics, is too emotional, and chokes in critical situations. He may be a smart kid, but his football IQ is very low.

I must have missed all the "chokes"

Etling is Andrew Hatch. Only starting because no other quarterback is ready!
