Last time I checked the teams from the last are not playing. History doesn't mean much in college football. It useually just means a team has had consistently better talent.

LSU will win comfortably....We're a legit title contender loaded across the field. State is a fringe Top20-25 team that doesn't beat ranked opponents under DM. LSU may or may not cover, that is the only question, but LSU has little chance of losing this home game.

At this point, LSU is a very underrated team that is kind of flying under the national radar due to NFL losses and perceived question marks on offense, MissSt is a trendy up-and-comer pick, that's the only reason a few people are getting sucked into the "this might be the year State beats LSU" conversation.

LSU 27, MissSt 6

All that said, it works out well for the LSU coaches and players that many are giving MissSt a "shot" and that this game is the SEC opener for LSU with a cupcake the following week. LSU certainly won't be looking past MissSt, which is what MissSt will need to ever win against LSU (falling on our schedule in a spot where we look past them or aren't ready to play). Due to the scheduling circumstances of this particular game, not to mention it being a night game in TS, it spells doom for MissSt.

Ironically, I expect this to be one of the better games for the O-line. They've had breakdowns early and I suspect that's been the main focus of practice this week. Most mistakes have been mental vs physical and I think they get them ironed out by Saturday.

I predict a back and forth game with LSU winning 24-20. MSU scores late to make it close.

what does history have to do with this? Is Brockers or Mingo or Honey badger lining up for us this weekend? MSU isn't playing against history.

I thought the same thing at first, but it could play a small part, especially if the game gets close. A lot of pressure on the team trying to break a streak.

See UK-Florida... knowing they are THIS-FRICKING-CLOSE to ending the streak, they choke....Can't put the ball in the end zone, can't make a 4th down stop, etc etc. So many chance to get over the hump, and just can't get it done because the pressure is too great.

If you look at this game objectively you will see this game will be a battle. To think we will dominate this team is crazy, but if we do dominate it will tell us a lot about the tigers.

This is Jennings first SEC start, Prescott is a better QB at this point. Our offensive line has not looked as advertised, especially against a competetive D line.
MSU has legitimate all sec players in Jones on DL and McKinney at LB. Furthermore, they have more speed on Defense than Wisconsin which will make outside runs difficult. Jennings and our WR have yet to establish short to medium passing offense.

Prescott will be able to scramble much better than any QB we have faced and could extend drives. Although I agree their WR are overmatched, prescott could scramble enough to create coverage breakdowns. We have looked better in the middle of our D lately, but I consider it still unproven based on competition.

If our D continues to play assignment football MSU will have a tough time. MSU is capable of big plays, which is what hurt us vs Wisconsin.

We are better special teams wise, and it's a night game in TS. Obviously, we have the advantage in this game and should win. We will lose if we don't protect the ball and give them easy scoring chances.

To think this game is a blowout is sunshine pumping at its best.

One advantage for LSU is we faced 3 QBs we had never seen before and handled them pretty well. LSU knows DP and will plan accordingly. On he other hand, MSU has not defended against Either of our QBs. Not a huge advantage, but it could be the difference.

Agree. This will be a very competitive game. The area of MSU that has to be attacked is their secondary, especially on the deep ball. Don't see us opening up the pass game enough to really take advantage. LSU 20-17

This is a legit advantage, IMO.

Pretty sure Chief ain't gonna overlook DPs ability to go into beast mode as he has in the first 3 games. I look for some extra participation from the DBs and safetys to help keep him contained. I don't think we can completely shut him down but can slow him down.

As for our O, well, we'll just have to wait and see. I think our OL will accept the challenge from a very, very good MSU DL. I think we'll see a steady dose of 4 RBs, along with screens thrown in. Will be fun to watch...

Solid anaylsis 0jersey, I think we win in a close one. All of our blockers must do better and if a TE gets his hands on a pass, he damn well better catch it. Otherwise, they will not see another pass.

we found out that Wisconsin couldn't throw the ball on us, so we stacked the box. My guess is chavis forces them to pass it against our talented secondary before he doesn't constantly stack the box with 8 or 9.

Nah, we'll stack the box with 10 and TW16 will guard two of MSUs WRs. He's that talented.

I thing R. Robinson re-establishes himself and has a break-out game similar to last year vs TAMU. He got off to slow start due to his issues but he is just as talented at corner if nor more so than T. White in my opinion and I think RR and TW will prove to be yet another good to great pair of DBs here at DBU.

We will run the ball between the tackles on these boys until we break through. Their dline is huge but not very deep and not as mobile as the other fronts we've seen. Our oline is massive. We can handle size. It's the shifting beforethe snaps tthat have been giving us fits. State won't do nearly as much shifting. I don't think they matchup well with us at all. But they'll definitely be up for this game so we'll see

I'm watching s.Alabama light their asses up as I type this. It'll probably be tough to move the ball early but we'll put thirty plus on them when all is said and done.
