Rumor out of Laffy.....the work he put in this past summer left his coaches wondering how bad he wants to be great.

I have connections with people close to him and his family. I called it just days before he committed on the recruiting board that he was going to Arkansas. And now I'll say this, even if LSU did offer him, he would not go. They are not huge lsu fans nor does our scheme fit what he wants. Just let it go.

This! Forget what the 2016 roster looks like, the roster for 2017-2019 is what counts with this kid. There are 2 potentials for 2017 class, both of which fit our scheme better (not counting Narcisse).

Cam, guy, Cam. This is the first real QB coach weve had since Jimbo. He knows what he's doing. Why would we get another QB when we just got Etling?

It doesn't matter who they're comfortable with. They are both still HS quarterbacks that both look very, very good. I even think Kelley's film is better personally but thats just me. I know Franks is a good one but looking at the situation we have now; why is getting two good ones a bad thing? I'd rather have two good ones than two bad ones like we have now.

Who are you referring to? Which player did he put all his eggs into a basket for?
Franks is a stand up guy too with no issues.. High character guy.. With more upside than any other QB in this class. He has a backup plan with the transfer QB who has to sit out this season as well.
There are only so many scholarships to offer, and you have to be careful on who you spend your effort on.. We tried to get another top QB with Franks and it didn't work. LSU extended offers to a few different guys in this class.. The top guys do not want to compete with Franks.
Then we were in it for Narcisse (next year's class) and he specifically said he took one look at Franks and decided he was going to Auburn. He admitted this. Of course Auburn being a better fit helped, but Franks is what make the push easier. I am not upset about losing out on him though, because I did not care for his play.. and I actually like mobile QBs.. He reminded me too much of Russell Shepard in his highlights from a QB standpoint.
It's nice the idea to offer everyone, but it's not always practical.
Plus this isn't even about Miles at this point. Cam is the QB guru and he is picking his guys. He hasn't had much time to prove his worth with his guys yet.. This is the year.. He did prove his worth the first year with Mettenberger though.. He took LSU's offense to elite status his very first season..
Franks is absolutely a pocket passer. He reminds me a lot of Mett with some better mobility.

Signing day 2017 is still a long way, at this point in 2012 I think Chase Litton and Mason Rudolph were the only two quarterbacks with offers for 2014. Harris was seen as a complete project until he worked with Cam at camps the following spring I believe.

the only other SEC to even offer Cole at this point is Kentucky
