Sounds like 1/9/12 when the players said later that they did not do what they practiced in the lead up to the game. They were perplexed about what happened to the gameplan that they had worked on so hard.

Makes no sense.

Miles system is a pro system. That Oregon A&M crap doesnt work and most importantly doesn't pay in the NFL. You and the other idiots who never made it past HS football should know this.

We either need Les to have an offensive overhaul or we need a new coach for this reason. Devising a scheme that best utilizes your QB's strengths is ideal. Cam and Les are choking their talents this season.

A successful option QB in high school should not be under center 95% of the time. Period.

Well...Miles recruited Harris knowing all that so I guess Miles can either:

1. Get over it
2. Or start recruiting players that fit

Harris had thrown 1 pass and lsu was down 17-0. The next one was a 52 yarder. Then lsu scored. Auburn scored right back. Score 24-7. Lsu' next 2 plays. Run, run. Pass then punt.

Last time I checked, LSU plays COLLEGE football and is not in the NFL. Who cares what works in the NFL? And, Miles' system has 23 points in the past 3 games, so it obviously doesn't work in COLLEGE.

Why can't you have aspects of both? I am not saying get rid of the power running game. But, mix it with some other things. This isn't rocket science. The whole world can see what is wrong and LSU has elite athletes that can do a host of things.

Your analysis makes no sense. If the goal of LSU is to be a farm team for the NFL and go 7-5/9-3 every year and send 7-10 guys to the NFL, then fine. We are succeeding. But, if it is to be a good COLLEGE team, then we are failing right now.

Forget the NFL. Who cares?

I love the argument that spread O's don't win championships. Because what we are doing on O is flat out preventing championships.

This is the one thing I don't agree with. Jennings has potential but just like with Harris Miles is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

We do not run a pro system. We run the power I dive plays into a stacked box no matter what and when we do pass on third and long we are in the power I and running 1 receiver routes. Go watch the NFL and you will notice there is nothing pro style about our offense

And LSU's first couple of series were all handoffs with him under center, for the most part. VERY conservative. Auburn scored fast and LSU never recovered. We want to play this game where no one scores for the first quarter and then we eventually grind it down the field and wear a team down. Meanwhile, other teams are looking to score quickly and we are trying to do 15 play 80 yard drives every time we get the ball unless we can hit a bomb downfield. There is just too much margin of error and defenses are ready for it.

They should have never given him the start in that environment. He should be getting half the snaps at least from here on out. Jennings is not a starting quarterback in the SEC.

I did find it odd that despite the fact that he came from a HS where he didn't go under center AND, more importantly, he had played very little under center in his appearances with LSU to that point, that we put him almost exclusively under center.

One would've thought that a big part of the plan with a true Freshman QB was to make him as comfortable as possible in the early going.

nah, would just make too much sense for the big dufus...

Miles coaches scared. It explains everything, including the regression of Jennings and the Auburn game.

I can see Les contemplating this for hours on end.

What is funny is that Miles says that Harris isn't ready, yet he threw him to the wolves in the most hostile environment in the SEC against the defending conference champions. Why not start Jennings and bring Harris in as the game progresses? Why not bring him in after that? Because he had one bad game he is done for the rest of the season yet Jennings has ALL bad games and keeps playing?

None of this makes sense, unless Harris is just cussing out coaches in practice and has lost the respect of coaches and teammates.

Which one?

miles does not see the scheme as the problem. miles has won over 100 games with this scheme. we just beat ole miss with this scheme and should have beat bama with this scheme. it will take a loss in one of the last 2 games to get miles to seriously rethink the scheme. as long as he was winning 10+ games a year then no one would be able to convince him to change what he believes is a winning formula.

Great post. Agree 100%.

It's just not rocket science. Spread it out with Harris and make the defense defend a true dual threat QB. Get Buga in space. LSU has all the potential in the world on offense. Les is holding these kids back. His offensive scheme prevents LSU from being great.

Just be aggressive! There is absolutely nothing to lose except in Les' case proving the majority of LSU fans know more about offense than a D1 coach.

As frustrated as we all are, I'm sure being Harris (and being a 19 yr old kid) is even more frustrating... If I was him, my patience would be at an end, and it would be very difficult to not let that show.
