The older generation, 55 and older, pronounce the city Alexandria,La. as "Elec". That's where that comes from. We that have moved away and don't get Hawthorne on a regular basis like him. He represents LSU to us. We have to hear OM or Ms. State first, then they might mention something about the rest of the SEC. BAMA, Tenn., aTm, or LSU maybe. We miss Hawthorne, you take him for granted. We can only get him late at night on WLS am radio.

And sometimes Elick Edwards, which is also not correct.
Jim has not done this recently though. It only took him 3 years to figure out his last name was Edward and not Edwards.
