I'd rather Jarvis.

But i think OBJ will go higher. Better athlete, more dynamic like mentioned earlier. NFL teams love that

3rd and 8, 4th qtr 1:00 left on the clock down by 5. Both Landry and OBJ have routes that take them past the 1st down marker. Who are you throwing to?

Jarvis, but let's not act like ODB was shabby on clutch 3rd downs. 3rd and 20 plus vs. UGA in the 4th on the go ahead TD drive. Odell with the catch. 4th down vs Ole Miss on the game tying drive. Odell again.

too bad the D didn't hold up either time.

Landry

Some ppl take it as a slight to OBJ to pick Landry. Its really not, Landry just seems to have that extra something you can't put your finger on. Not to mention maybe the greatest hands in LSU history.

Beckham reminds of Antonio Brown and Landry is a carbon copy of Hines Ward.

Antonio Brown drops some catchable balls, and not the best route runner, but his agility is elite and his speed is definitely above average.

Beckham will make his living on YAC.

it's also not a knock against ODB.. because like you said he has tremendous hands as well..

i would be torn as to which one i would want in the NFL.. in college I would take ODB tho

It's called the clutch gene. Some might have better athleticism, but lack the ability to make the game changing play to save or win the game. Landry without a doubt has the clutch gene. You can rely on him when you need the big play and the game is on the line. If it is thrown well he will catch it. If it is not thrown well he will fight to the ball, and if he gets his hands on he will catch it. Clutch gene.

Can we take it easy on the initials policing? OBJ, ODB.
The sun will come up in the morning.

JL is a gamer who actually shows up in big games. He doesn't disappear or fumble, etc.

There is no question who is the BEST all around receiver- the RIGHT answer is Landry. Beckham is a special teams player- kickoff and punting teams. In the NFL,Beckham may have his opportunity on certain offensive plays like a Kordell Stewart, but he simply drops too many passes or punts and you cannot trust him in crucial situations. But Landry is the BEAST every down receiver that will catch with Hands of Velcro(never drops a pass), give pancake blocks, will be dependable and most importantly - he will be a true leader who loves the game of football. I hope the Saints are lucky to get him because whatever team gets him, he will be the difference maker. LSU players and coaches chose Landry as the MVP for a reason - we will miss the Juice next year- one of LSUs greatest all around receiver of all time.

Landry has intangibles in that he is clutch and he is just more of a pure football player. Landry reminded me of Michael Clayton the way he would decleat people on punts. Not saying that ODB isn't more physically gifted but I have never seen him just lower the boom on someone and he has been known to fumble in rather inopportune times.

Odell apparently runs around a 4.4 (we'll see at the combine), while Landry apparently runs around a 4.6 (again, we'll see).

Landry, though, grew since he arrived at LSU. He's bigger and stronger than OBJ. He has a knack for finding the ball and attacking it at the right moment to garner the best separation from the defender possible. He is the better route runner and his agility is off the charts. He is the prototypical NFL Wide Out and if he posts a good 40 time at the combine, he should (though probably won't) be drafted higher than OBJ.

That said, OBJ's hands have dramatically improved since he started at LSU. He used to be extremely unreliable; a playmaker who we tried to incorporate into the game but who suffered badly from dropsy. He was Russell Shepard-esque. Since then, he has become far better with his hands, which probably indicates an increase in grip strength and discipline. He is still a little small, but he might be able to pack on some weight as he gets older.
