Yes, it was.

Our offense put up points and got way more consistent (and slightly luckier) QB play than we've gotten pretty much all season, and our defense faced an offense that couldn't really throw the ball very consistently (which has been the bane of our defense all season).

Our front line is/was strong and athletic enough to (usually) contain their inside and QB options, and our LBs and Safeties could (usually) contain their wide option because there wasn't much threat of multiple receivers burning our overtaxed and poorly schemed secondary. This was pretty much a perfect recipe for this team to have success against a quality team.

The intensity we showed is pretty much exactly like we have done in every bowl game under Les. So I don't know that it had as much to do with our QB as it did the way our coaching staff prepares for bowl games.

"The pick sixes were from pressure."

Not all of them. He threw an unusual number of interception to touchdown passes. Bad decision making? Tunnel vision throws?

I think coaching and capitalizing on GA Tech's mistakes won this game.

Not players playing for any particular player

I'll humor you... (answers in bold)

Playing for JJ? A month of preperation and renewed focus resulted in the players playing hard. Anyone who has seen the Tigers in the last few years knows that Les always has this team prepared for bowl games.

What does he have that Jarrett lee and Andrew Hatch do non't have? Mobility, smart reads, not forcing the ball, confidence, confidence in his team mates, checking off to wrs, the list goes on...

I've been questioning myself all day about this. Its not that hard, really.

This was not the same team we've seen all year. I agree.

What was is? What?

Was it character? See above

Was it personality? See above

Was it race? Only to delusional ranTARDS who make it about race.

Was it play calling? Maybe some of it. I think JJ's skill set translates very well in the Crow's system.

What the hell was it that made this years team look so bad and so good for the bowl game? Lack of confidence in the quarterbacks (due to inconsistency), weeks of built up frustration (snowball effect). A month of practice and preperation defensively for the trip option, and a month of offensive preparedness with Jefferson as the starter resulted in a good performance in the bowl game.

Jordan Jefferson doesn't lock onto receivers like Lee. He actually passes the ball to the open receiver rather than staring down Lafell or Dickson on every single play.

He also makes the O-line look better because he has some mobility and can avoid pass rushers. I don't think the players are playing any harder for Jefferson, but he is clearly better than Lee, who simply repeats the exact same mistakes every game, and Hatch, who can't throw the ball more than 15 yards down the field.

Btw, I think that Byrd has looked about the same playing under Lee or Jefferson.

I wonder if Les hadn't defered all season if we would have looked better having the chance to jump out first?
So you are using the coin toss decision as an excuse for JL playing poorly this year?

Glad I didn't say that. . .

To the extent that the team didn't give its all at times, I think that had as much to do with the co-DC situation as anything. There were times the D players were clearly frustrated because of lack of clear direction.

JJ was the only one trying his heart out to stop them on the play called back, players see this and respond.

Jefferson wants to win, and although cliche', I feel he will demand this effort of those around him. The seniors on this team should be ashamed that a true freshman "gets it".

I sincerely hope we field a group of young men that play as hard as they can, and do not tolerate poor attitudes and lack of drive we witnessed this year. Win or lose it is nice seeing some folks fly around again.

Maybe your missing the fact some where that he is a better QB and a better athlete. When he does get pressure he can make plays with his legs and buy extra time looking downfield. You can also say that the GT defense is no SEC defense.

I agree. A good DC puts an end to the snowball effect defensively. IMO, thats on coaching.

Maybe you missed the original post, which was why do players seem to respond when JJ is in the game. This is about team apparent team effort, not QB ability.

The fact that he is more mobile is not something that even a blind man could miss, JL is slightly more mobile than my slow arse.

He gives the team stability and production. With that, he gives the team the confidence that they have a good chance at winning. I'm sure that is a feeling they've been starving for all year.

In short, I'm sure the the team felt like we would have to win in spite of our QB with Lee or Hatch...whereas with Jefferson, they know he'll do his job.

How many points did we score vs Florida, Georgia, and Alabama? The offense didn't quit they played pretty well all season. The defense couldn't get off the field and give the offense more opportunities. When they did the interceptions killed us.

Why don't you listen to Miles PC. He probably has more insight into team chemistry than Ranters.

The team is full of furious racists. They hated that pale motherfricker.
