Serious question - when was the last time the Saints had an LSU player? Was it Devery Henderson?

Wasn't Flynn on the saints roster at some point last year?
If not Al woods a while back maybe

Most Cowboy fans felt like Claiborne busted only because of where he was drafted along with injury plagued first few seasons. This year, most Dallas fans that I know, see him as a player and I believe he will be fine. Don't know if can say the same for Mingo. He may benefit from a change of scenery.
Hope all of our guys who got drafted in late rounds this year prove to be all pros!

Claiborne is one of the bigger busts of all time
Yet, he wasn't even in the top 3 biggest busts in that first round.

Mingo production in college didnt match his draft selection.
I agree with this. He had athletic ability but he's always been relatively light and he wasn't a true game changer in college. Production wasn't there. His last year at LSU he only had 4.5 sacks.

.
And a 6th round QB out of Michigan is considered by some as the GOAT

Same reason why a 7th round pic out of hofstra became the all time receiver for the saints. The draft is a crap shoot at best.

Great players in the wrong systems.
That's certainly a lot of the problem. Both have endured injuries as well. Would love to have both on the Saints.

Because they asked a man coverage cb to play cover 2 while having zero pass rush.
Mingo shouldn't be an olb.

This happens every single draft. Nfl scouts and front offices see athleticism and they think he just wasnt getting the coaching in cfb.

A mixture of personal failings and schematic misfits.
And injuries, Claiborne just isnt built for run support in the NFL.

Claiborne is one of the bigger busts of all time
3 players picked before him have been busts.

But he had 8.5 the year before and led in qb pressure the 2 seasons combined. The pats need to grab him the hoodie will find a use for him he's a smart kid he'd fit in well there.

Claiborne was overrated. He should have been a late first round pick, which still makes him a great prospect, but wouldn't make him anywhere near the bust he's considered now.
Mingo was always a mystery to me. He was freakishly fast and extremely strong for his size. However, while he was strong enough to hold his own against college tackles, he's not strong enough to handle NFL linemen. And while he's fast as hell for a DE, he's not good enough in space for a LB.
So not strong enough for an NFL DE and not mobile enough for a LB - he's a tweener. He looked like a tweener before the draft, and that's just what he's turned out to be - another Renaldo Turnbull.

I'm guessing most of you haven't read that article that came out a little while ago, I'll try to find the link and edit it. 1st year Mingo played decent under Horton (who is back in Cle) but when Pettine came in, he wanted to use Mingo as an OLB to cover Tight ends and RBs and never asked Mingo to add weIght to his frame. Well this offseason Mingo spent some time in Dallas and is up to 251 pounds, if he keeps his athleticism he could have a good year, especially since it's a contract year.
