Yea, I think most Dallas fans know he has been unlucky with all the injuries.

d never asked Mingo to add weIght to his frame. Well this offseason Mingo spent some time in Dallas and is up to 251 pounds
he hasnt been able to keep weight on. That is his biggest problem. Once the season starts he'll lose 10-15 lbs

Obviously LSU has a very nice number of NFL players. I always pull for them to do well for recruiting purposes. As former LSU players, I want them to do well in life period.
However, with the number of LSU players in the NFL, some will be stars, some will be contributors, and some will bust at that level. I think both of these players are on the clock between the later two categories.
No shame at all. they both have played in the League and made good money and were great Tigers, regardless of the reasons for their struggles.

I don't recall him being on this type of diet, if he's consuming 6000 calories a day, he could keep the weight on

You know how hard it is to eat 6000 calories??

Supposedly Mingo has adds weight this offseason. He's somewhere around 240+ we will see it it helps.

It's not necessarily that the draft is a crap shoot. Rather, it's all a matter of being in the right place on the right team. I doubt anyone ever knows of Marcus Colston if he never played for the Saints. He was just fortunate to be drafted by a team with a creative HC, a HOF QB and no megastar WR at the time. Right place, Right time.
What Brees WAS, was a guy trying to get re-established in the game after an injury, an moving to a new team. Payton sought to make him as comfortable as he could, and Brees' security blanket in San Diego was Antonio Gates, a big "TE" who was really a basketball power forward posting up for position against smaller players. Colston was the early Saints equivalent, Graham was the later one.

You take a press man guy in college and make him a cover two squatter on a team with no pass rush. You take an undersized end with speed and make him cover backs and tight ends. Then you wonder why those guys aren't producing like they did in college.
Didn't need to keep reading the thread after this. Exactly.

I know Mo gets a lot of hate from the Dallas media and from a lot of fans, but it isn't warranted.
He was our best corner last year when healthy and has shown glimpses, but because he doesn't cause a ton of turnovers it goes unnoticed.
If he stays healthy, I think this could be his best year. CB's don't typically transition super quick/well to the NFL and with Scandrick back I think things could go well and I hope they do.
I was very happy that we go him for as cheap as we did for this year.

Serious question - when was the last time the Saints had an LSU player? Was it Devery Henderson?
And I believe we had or possibly still have Flynn

Dallas does not hate Claiborne. He has been hurt and never been on the field consistently for any amount of time. It's not hate. It's been frustration. He is in the last year of his deal and it is a wait and see on whether they will try to resign him. Quite frankly when Mo has been on the field he has not been very productive. That's just a fact. But part of the problem is the scheme. Dallas put him in a zone defense and he has been lost in it.

It's all mental. Some guys have goals to make it to the NFL.Some guys have a goal to be the best in the NFL. Once you have achieved your goal you start to let up.

Delvin Breaux did not play for LSU.

Not hard to "bust" in Cleveland. And Dallas is a dumpster fire

The Saints say he played no college ball.
Still got a diploma in Defensive Backs from DBU
(Yeah that was pretty lame. I'll give myself a downvote

quote:Well said.
Dallas runs a zone scheme with their DBs and their pass rush has been nonexistent.
Mingo was forced into a OLB position when he's clearly a WDE.
Great players in the wrong systems.
You could also throw Glen Dorsey in the mix of players who went to the wrong system (KC Chiefs)

Still was on scholly and got to spend time around the program. It's not like the guy didn't work out or train for 4 years while in college.

Really? Didn't know this either.
I don't know if he's lost the passion, just saying a guy gets injured over and over, he prob gets tired of it, you lose motivation when you already made the money. Just human nature.
