It just sucks not having seven games at home next year, while the Tradition Fund keeps going up, up, up.

Dude lighten the frick up.. Who in LA has a neutral site game to play in? LSU is going where the game is and it's great for recruiting.

I think it's sweetest set up yet for the Tigers. And I already have tickets for it through one of my old vendors who installed the glazing in that stadium. Word.

Because it's a sweet idea. We play neutral games every year. This is a chance to play a fake contender and kick their arse on a neutral site.

My only concern is we are playing a seriously good team. Otherwise I think its cool to play an OOC game in a neutral stadium.

Only 6 home games next season. That's what sucks about this.

And the recruiting angle is way overplayed.

Guess Im selfish, because I love it and I love travelling to games. Also, the lack of home games doesnt matter to me, suck it up and travel. Tradition fund doesnt matter either because I get tickets each week without having "season tickets"... Guess life is just sweet for me... sorry for the complainers.

There isn't a single negative about playing a big time out of conference game in Jerry World to open the season, not one.

This post is a fail.

Maybe if Louisiana would do something about its public education (among the worst in the nation) and clean up its environmental record, there would be enough industry and high-paying jobs to keep LSU graduates there, instead of having to move to Atlanta or Houston or Dallas to get a job.

Alleva is just going where the alumni are.

So would you rather have the "away" game in a large alum city that is within driving distance from BR, or play in Eugene, Oregon???
I would much, much, much rather go to Eugene than to Dallas

You're right.

Let's keep playing teams like ULM in Tiger Stadium.

I've got a far better reason to be opposed to this game than you do.

I live in Oregon. I have to listen to Ducks fans 24/7 crow about how great they are. If we lose to them, I'll NEVER hear the end of it.

We lost to Oregon State except for the voodoo hex we put on their kicker who went on to set an Oregon State record for most PATs in a career. We did our best to lose to a Washington team that was winless the season before we played them. LSU has been giving me cardiac arrest every time we play a team from the Pac Northwest.

You think I'm looking forward to playing Oregon?

But you know what? We gotta play all comers. Kudos to the Ducks and to LSU for not being pussies and agreeing to this game. It's good for both schools and it's good for both conferences.

It's just bad for me personally if we should lose. So we better not lose!

Have you ever been to Eugene?

I've been to both.

I'd rather go to Seattle than Eugene. Ask the 20k LSU fans who went to Seattle last year. Way fun road trip because Seattle is a way cool place to visit. Autzen Stadium is nice, but unless you're a pothead nobody puts Eugene on their bucket list.

Neither school is probably thrilled about a home and home series, so this is a compromise. National TV, access to alumni in another state, etc. Good reasons for it

Spot on... I'd definitely rather play Oregon in Texas than in Eugene.

frick that Super Wal-Mart P.O.S. I guarantee you the atmosphere won't come close to Tiger Stadium or even the Superdome. Those new stadiums suck arse - they're too big and cushy and the real fans are sitting 500 feet above the field - the atmosphere blows.

500 feet above the field IS THE frickING SUPERDOME!!! The worst place to ever watch a football game! Oh and that echo is the most annoying sound ever.

If you live in Houston, you should be happy about exposure to local talent - see Russell Shepard, Joseph Addai, etc. And it's closer for you to go the game than to Baton Rouge. Trade in your jambalaya and gumbo one week for Texas Barbecue and Fajitas.
