Why am I the only one who's outraged over LSU vs Oregon in Texas?

Do we have no state pride any more? For the past 5 decades Louisiana has hemorrhaged jobs, money, corporations, and talented college graduates to Texas.
In return we get disrespect, haughty attitudes about how great Texas is, etc.
So what does LSU AD do? They fricking send 60,000 Tiger fans to Dallas to drop millions in hotel, gas, food, alcohol, and ticket revenue to Texas.
We're exporting something that has no business being exported. If you want to play Oregon schedule a fricking home and away.
Am I just out of touch? Why the frick is everybody so excited to give Jerry Jones and Texas money that should be pumping up the Louisiana and Baton Rouge economy?
"But it's a pretty stadium"
frick that Super Wal-Mart P.O.S. I guarantee you the atmosphere won't come close to Tiger Stadium or even the Superdome. Those new stadiums suck arse - they're too big and cushy and the real fans are sitting 500 feet above the field - the atmosphere blows.

recruiting
...and we have a neutral site game nearly every year. I don't see the big deal.

Yes.
It's called being a national program, TV visibility, strengthen recruiting in Texas and give your large Texas alumni a chance to support the Tigers.

Were you outraged when LSU played UNC in Atlanta?

Well frick frickity frick frick frick!!
But really i believe it will turn to our advantage. There are TONS of tiger fans in Texas. b ut yes it does suck that we couldn't play them in Tiger stadium. Duck fans are nice and alot of them that I know are fairly rich.

Yeah I don't like it. If LSU wants to do that they should play somebody in New Orleans every year and create their own "Kickoff Classic".

The recruiting excuse seems silly to me. The game would be on national television and equally hyped (if not more hyped) having Gameday come to Baton Rouge.

You really enjoy complaining don't you?

I do enjoy complaining but then again I'm also fiercely loyal to Les Miles, Jordan Jefferson, and the overall status of the LSU football program.
In some ways I whine a lot but in some very important ways I whine less than almost every other poster on the Rant.

Mach Brown and other college coach in Texas are outraged as well. And Jerry Jones loves it!

getting a bunch of kids in that area to make the short drive to watch the game and visit with them is much easier than getting them to drive all the way to BR on their own dime for unofficials

Not to mention a few thousand Tiger Alums who faithfully make the drive to Baton Rouge several times a year. Nice to throw them a bone now and again.

I get to drive 3 hours instead of 8 to watch LSU, so I am all for it.

So don't go and shut up. That should solve the problem.

Neither school is probably thrilled about a home and home series, so this is a compromise. National TV, access to alumni in another state, etc. Good reasons for it.
