Steve Ensminger I believe was the first one i saw play in person in 1976 against Rice.
(But i used to listen to games on the radio before that...cant remember who that was)
Terry Robiskie was the RB. I believe a 31-0 shutout.

I vaguely remember Hodson when I was a little kid. But the first qb I remember when I was able to comprehend things was Jamie Howard's freshman season.

I remember being a little kid and some relatives complaining about Wickersham when I didn't know what was going on. Then Hodson was shortly after and everyone loved him, also about the time I started playing backyard football with friends and everyone wanted to be Hodson or Wendell Davis.

Thanks, if you can give me something on John David booty as well I'd appreciate that. I've always had these questions, I played with booty in pre-middle school football.
Booty had the most unusual recruitment process in the history of recruiting. We went through an entire recruiting season when Booty was a junior in high school. Booty was projected to be the number one recruit in the country the following year. However after the official signing date, there were rumblings out of Shreveport that the people who were running Evangeli (Duron, Berlin, and Booty) we’re having “disagreements" and Evangel was getting ready to split up - it did the following year when Calvery Baptist was formed.
While JD Booty was only a Junior, he had enough high school credits to graduate the following summer because he had been kept back in Eighth grade. So, without any real recruitment process he announced he was going to USC after he graduated the following summer, and he was the first player ever to forego his entire senior year in high school.
Of course LSU wanted him. However, both of his brothers had difficult times at LSU with both the administration and fans (mainly because they were both selfish prima donnas) so it wasn't unexpected when JD Booty looked elsewhere. At that point in time, USC was the "sexy" choice as they were signing 8-12 5-star players from all over the country every year.

As with some other folks of a certain age, I can’t answer with just one. Woodley-Ensminger rotation under Cholly Mac.

I join the group citing Warren Rabb as their first QB sighting.

Zach Mettenberger. He'll always hold a place in my heart for being the quarterback my first two years at LSU. He did a damn fine job and I'm proud of him.

Rohan Davey "Bluegrass Miracle Game" was my earliest memory of LSU football.
