Sure you do. You know exactly why people keep suggesting that.

Does it matter? Jacoby hit leadoff friday and saturday and went 0 for the series and we still scored 22 runs. We are the best hitting team in the SEC right now, no need to change anything. Whoever starts as our 3rd outfielder, whether it be sciambra or stevenson, will do just fine hitting first.

This is all 100% correct.

I don't know why there can't be a discussion of other alternatives without people acting like girls. The lineup isn't going to have any major changes. It doesn't need any major changes. But what the hell else is there to talk about?

I would be for moving rhymes to the 2 hole, would hopefully prevent mainieri from trying to bunt so often from that spot

Its fine to think that, everyone has an opinion. We all know that isn't happening though.

I wouldn't mind giving stevenson a shot. If jacoby could get his shite together he would be perfect hitting leadoff.

This is the only reason I would ever say to move Rhymes to 2 hole - give Laird a shot in the leadoff and see if he can handle that spot.

Sciambra's on base perc is still not bad...429...i was really hoping he could be the guy...and maybe he still can.

Bat Ross first and Jones 2nd.

Get the weak hitters out of the way.

Then we've lulled the opponent to sleep and kill them with murderers' row: Laird, Bregman, Rhymes, Katz, etc.

j/k

but not really

OK, I really am kidding. A little. Have we had our moonbat thread yet this morning?

Looking through the OBPs of the team, pretty much all of the regulars have very respectable OBP. Kind of surprising actually.

I think everyone did the way he came out to start the year. Seemed like every AB was 6-7 pitches and would end in a hit or a walk. Hopefully he gets it going again.

Jared Foster is hitting .500. He must play every day. Bat him leadoff so he can get as many at bats as possible. I mean, a .500 hitter is being totally underutilized. I blame a lot of people for this.

rhymes is not a table setter. he's a run producer. he doesnt have power but its not really necessary in college baseball. He can still put the ball in gaps much better than most on the team. Putting him at the 2 hole takes one of your best run producers out of the heart of the lineup. Plus he's very slow so it kills (or at least diminishes) any type of steal, hit and runs, scoring from first on doubles opportunities that you expect out of your table setters.

In summary...its a really really bad idea.

You can bat your pitcher if you aren't playing State or ULL because nonthug teams won't peg your players.

Laird is currently in the 2 hole and only has 2 steals. 2-4. Right now, Bregman is a much better base stealer then Laird is.

hit and runs

Don't need speed for this. The guy behind you should be putting the ball in play. You can hit and run with Brad Cresse on first. Speed isn't necessary.

scoring from first on doubles

Speed helps with this obviously, but it's also about being a good base runner. Getting a good jump off of the bat and rounding the bases well. Being a good base runner can make up for a hell of a lot in lack of speed.

I can respect this, this makes sense. I see why you don't want to put him in the 2 hole, I just don't agree with some of your reasons. I don't think I've really ever disagreed with anything you have said other than this.
