who is responsible for the mess incluing your prior guy, Emmert.

He was the self-proclaimed "football President" who has the worst record in the history of our program under his watch. Not only did he hire Losingham but he was responsible for NOT firing him after the Hawaii debacle and giving us the 0-12 that resulted from the team playing mutiny on his arse (and the decision to "keep" Losingham after his firing mid-season last year so he could maintain his iron grip over the players).
Emmert has done well by UW, academically. But he should keep out of the athletics or be deemed part of the problem that he helped create. Douchehelmet Turner was also the AD for way too long considering his utter and complete failures there.
The failures of Emmert, Douchehelmet Turner, and Losingham created a very vocal movement and the "civil war" mentioned above.

Nice RB y'all have there. He even passes occasionally.

quote:interesting. he is partially responsible for catapulting LSU into an elite program. I had assumed he would help foster that same environment up there.
also, disagreement as to who is responsible for the mess incluing your prior guy, Emmert.
Good luck to you.

Lawdawg1 - sounds like you've got a good and realistic handle on where the Huskies are right now. We at LSU know what it's like to wander in the wilderness of piss poor football with clowns as coaches. We were there bigtime in the 90's. Solid coaching will work as long as the recruiting picks up the players.
But, right now, Locker aside, we've got the horsepower and firepower. I hope our boys are ready to use it - all indications are that they are.

Sarkisian is getting the recruiting done this year, thankfully. Nick Montana was a huge get as are some of the others he has secured. That is definitely the focus right now.

Emmert has been great for academics, but not so much for athletics... So far though, Sarkisian looks like the right hire and things seem to be turning around.

On the one hand, who wouldn't be? I mean, Locker's not considered a great passer by any stretch and our DB's *should* be taking a step up in their individual games this year.
However, it might not be outside the realm of possibility with a ton of play-action & short passes a la Troy St. last year.

Really good dialogue, thanks to our Wash. posters.
The perspective on Emmert is very interesting.

the irony is that Emmert is actually from the Seattle area. whoa! the other thing is, it's not like UW academics wasn't top notch before he got here either. it's just not a good fit in terms of football. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbanghead.gif)
