Locker isn't the fastest guy ever. He is very quick though. What impresses me is that he reaches his top speed right after his initial step which takes people by surprise. In that 2007 highlight reel, you'll notice him rounding the corner often and getting by defenders rather easily - including Ohio State and USC's defenses.

Strong player.
I wish he would have signed with LSU.
We need a backup tight end.

I jest.

All I know is, in all the Jake Locker videos he likes to lower his shoulder a lot and he seemingly takes a bunch of HUGE hits because of it. Just from his highlight videos. Don't know but he better buckle his chin strap down and slide a lot. Hes going to end up hurt if he thinks he can just run over every LSU defender. Most of our guys on defense have prototypical NFL size/physicality. Chad Jones is going to love sitting up in the box on this cat.

In 2007, our offense was fine. The Ls were solely due to the defense (or lack thereof).

2008 was due to injuries, lack of talent on both sides of the ball, and the team quitting on Losingham.

Keep watching... You'll see Ohio State and USC in there too - both of which had top 10 defenses in the nation that year....

Regardless, he can't do it alone and will need some serious help.
