with the injury to Mills. We had 3 very talented and experienced safeties. Probably the most talented trio in college football. Still have two great starters, but who can step up and be a great backup? Does Dwayne Thomas now, in addition to being the nickel back, move to safety, who could be that ball hawking type safety who has plenty of experience (but not at safety) or just go with the young guys Lewis and Battle. Where is Thompson? He was showing a lot of promise a couple years ago, then got injured I believe.

Nothing. He was a true freshman last year. He was rail thin coming out of highschool . Now, he's added 21lbs since last year and looks great.

He def will be in the mix for that 3rd safety spot.

I dont think it'd be a bad idea to switch Xavier Lewis to safety since he's got kind of the same frame as Mills. We're already super deep at corner with White, Paris, Thomas, Tolliver, and Jackson plus savion smith, Kristian Fulton, and possibly Trayvon Mullen... transitioning some to safety as a freshman this year might be a good idea.

I'm gonna go against the grain and pick Devin Voorhies... I still think he was the steal of the 2014 class.

I think Jefferson has been solid & deserves the first shot at it, now that Mills is out for a while.

I really hope Thompson gets a shot at least at some backup playing time. I met him at the spring game a few years ago and he was very personable and looked ready to contribute in a strong way. Too bad he was injured.

Is he a junior or senior this season?

He redshirted this past season, which was his JR year. So I guess he will be a redshirt JR this year and will have 1 more year of eligibility.
