Which side of the ball will we be the strongest in 2014?

I say defense. Loaded everywhere. We have a lot of new talent but overt all our depth and speed is best on defense.

special teams, I think that our kickoff and punt coverage will be stout as usual...especially with all the big time freshmen looking to make names for themselves
With a young offense that may struggle to finish drives, I can see our place kicker leading the SEC in field goal attempts and makes
Our punter should be much improved and will be called on to reverse field a lot .. I think he steps up this year big time!
offense and defense will be a wash bc as strong as we are in the defensive backfield, we don't have a lot of experience in the defensive trenches. We do, however, have a veteran offensive line and three-four running backs that will rotate with power and speed to take the load off of an inexperienced qb
special teams could be the difference between 8 wins and 11 wins.
Can we make long field goals?
Can we have a strong punting game?
I think of all the questions going into the season, ST's will rock out and surprise a lot of people!

Its pretty obvious.... losing our top QB, top RB, top 2 WRs, and 1 of our best OL.

Jennings is a Sophmore with 2 Spring Practices ,2 Fall Practices and one full Season as a Backup QB. If he does not have it now he will never have it!

Easily defense. As long as Robinson is eligible to play we'll have the at worst #2 defense in the SEC. Offense has much more potential to surprise if we can use the TEs in the short passing game.

I think the side without the laces is the strongest .

why would this be a joke , I mean no one would expect him to put up the numbers that mett did , especially with young receivers , but he should be able to move the ball , manage the game and not turn the ball over .....
If he can't at least handle that at this point then he may not be the man for the job .....

Defense and its not close

Well thought out response. In 2011 punting was one of our strongest assets and allowed us to win close games. We had great coverage and could hit the long FG.
With BDP back let's hope we are there again this year. I agree it could be the difference

We will be equally terrible on both sides.

We have no QB experience, all new backfield and WRs. I'll go defense.

We lost our two starting tackles, but return a much improved pair of ends. A couple of the guys looking to step up at tackle in the fall made a lot of plays as part of the rotation last year.
While the line may not be an anchor point this year, it won't be a liability.

no, not a joke. It's quite reasonable to expect a guy with ability, who has been in a program over a year and who has had some (although limited game experience), to be able to play well, especially in his second year.
Sure, experience helps, but for the most part, players either have it, or they don't, and you can usually tell quickly. And my gut feel says Jennings isn't the answer at QB.

Please-Defense. still not sure we have a QB!

With the amount of games LSU won during the Jefferson years, I'm really not too worried about uncertaintity at QB.
Heck, if LSU would have had a defense in 08 they could have survived a few of the miserable pick six games by Lee.
