Since I'm late backing up this part...I used to work for LSU in Finance and Management. I had a whole discussion about this with one of the lead auditors. It was something about the way the assistant coaches were paid that made it basically a cash grab. Basketball wasn't the only ones. Skip Bertman made a ton of money off it also. From what I was told, it led to how they were handled differently. Take that FWIW but the info is solid.

Unjust firing? I'd go with Brady. Not because he was at LSU. I think he deserved a little more time.
Chizik was overdue. I was telling my dad the other day, "I think they would've canned him already but were holding out on that 1 in a million chance that AU would beat Alabama."
He bought a 1 in a lifetime talent, since then, their program has derailed in a huge way. On top of that, now the AU football program is under investigation.
