the old barn gymnasium at auburn burned in 96. lsu 19-15. raion hill's pic sealed it. if i heard correctly, an lsu fan left a grill too close to the old gym. idk.

I was in my apartment at LSU watching with my buds....remember like it was last season....even the prospect of winning a game against an SEC opponent was quite a rush in those days...the contrast from the high of the first half to the misery of the second half coupled with knowing that we were just watching a pretty good guy's career go down the drain was a gut wrenching feeling.....still makes me sick to think about it....

I was at the game. Worst game I ever went to.

All those games in the 90's were a blurred together nightmare. I remember times sitting in a half empty Tiger Stadium.

Watched the first half at home before leaving to coach my kids' soccer game. Left the radio with my dad who was giving me updates on the sideline. He tells me about the first couple of interception returns but I figure we'll hang on and win. Finally I look over at him and he's shaking his head. "Not again?" I asked. "Yes, again." Couldn't believe it.

I think we lost the damn soccer game too.

its a sad indictment on my youth, but i can remember life events based around lsu seasons and games. i know, im a loser. i forget important dates, but i can remember certain times in life if i think back to football seasons and games. god, i suck. also, my best friend is an auburn grad, so those games still take up most of my cerebral cortex.

If you looked up stereotype in the dictionary, the above might be used as a reference quote.

Think about how bad 2004 Georgia was before making that statement.

Jeez, I meant for me. I wasn't in Athens in 2004. I'll try and think more.

I was driving from my parents' house back to Baton Rouge. Couldn't believe we were winning, and then we imploded.

dude, i live an hr from athens and have since 83. i left that game as soon as xavier carter downed it on the one. i had to hear about that shite on a daily basis for a year. fortunately, we redeemed ourselves in 2005 by getting our arse kicked again by uga in the sec cg. at least i can hold last yrs game over their heads for 3 more yrs.

Jest.

As for the original question, I was watching it with my dad. Friend of mine left to start the fourth. "We got it man."

My buddy and I checked out of our hotel a day early, and just drove back. Didn't even want to hang in Athens after that.

I was there.... about 2 rows off the field in the endzone. I saw the Auburn defenders up close and personal running into the endzone.

Didn't follow LSU football then and had no idea I would end up there in 97. I am told I'm lucky I didn't watch this game.
