Taking my kids to the game this fall, but not interested in staying in Tuscaloosa. Too expensive. Anyone stay in other places between BR and Tuscaloosa that isn’t more than 2 hours away that was decent. TIA

Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn are next to each other in Meridian, MS. Both are nice. Both off the interstate. Go eat a good steak at Weidmann's.
Meridian is only 1.5 hours away from Tuscaloosa.

We have stayed in Birmingham and had a good time. Good restaurants and breweries and hit up the zoo and southern flight museum. Less than an hour from Tuscaloosa

Just watch for the sinkhole hotel that got some LSU baws after the 2015 game

Meridian. I've stayed in several of the hotels there (HH brands) and it's fine. It's around an hour and a half drive.

In West Hoover by the Hoover Met you have a great selection of hotels by the Met. Takes 30 min to Tuscaloosa or less. There is a Nice Holiday Inn, Embassy Suites, Drury inn. Plus great places to eat also

Yes was there for that game CLM fiasco and was staying at that Drury and saw that sht the morning after on way home! Was a huge sink hole pretty wild!
That Hilton Garden is pretty nice there is also a restaurant in downtown Meridian that is suppose to be oldest in Ms that is worth going.
As mentioned a straight shot on interstate 90 min to the campus. Geaux Tigers!

Stay in Meridian, MS. We stay at the Hilton Garen Inn every time. Bout a 90-minute drive to Tuscaloser.
DO NOT STAY IN HOOVER OR ANYWHERE NORTHEAST OF TUSCALOSER. Traffic between T Town and Bham area after games is horrendous. AVOID BHAM AREA AT ALL COSTS!

Doubtful he’s gonna spend money on a good steak, he’s complaining that it’s too expensive to stay in Tuscaloosa

$700-1000/night just isn't worth it man. I'm not cheap, but I'm not an idiot either.
Meridian looks like a good spot.

Several hotels near the Mercedes Plant in Vance which iw about 30 miles from UA. Nothing really to do unless you schedule a plant tour but keeps you from having to stay in Tuskerloosa(sic).

Just took less than 2 minutes looking up hotels and there were 8 places in the $300 range, and 7 places in the $400 range. And that was just on the first page. But I guess saying 700-1000 makes your narrative look better

The hotel prices in Tuscaloosa are way too high for that shithole. Same when traveling to Oxford. frick staying there for those prices.

We did the same last year and really enjoyed. Had breakfast at a nice little cafe in Downtown Meridian. Parker in the Parking Garage across from the baseball field and was in and out of there really easy. Highly recommend doing it this way!
