Nope 3-5 and never won by more than 3 the facts are posted. Dunno how you made up 4-5 and 81-57 but it's not true and anyone can check the links and see. You're comparing one of the worst coaches in our history and the country to a guy who won more than anybody else outside of Kentucky during his tenure at Miss St. That includes Billy Donavon. Now if you don't like him that's fine but his success can't be questioned it's fact.

Are we talking about Stansbury still? Because he won almost 200 less games than Donovan. Donovan had a 2 year head start but their win totals aren't close(467 wins vs 293).

Dude seriously where are you getting that from?
LINK
We played state twice we lost 67-57 and won 97-94 double ot Taz had 40 I remember the game because it wasn't on tv just radio. I've linked it 3 times now Johnson's entire career. I dunno where that box score you got it from must be the year before.

So what? Stansbury was in the division without Kentucky. The SEC West division title doesn't even lock you into the tournament. His winning is not comparable to Donovan at all.

Also he won 5 not 8. I hope this is a troll.

He made the tourney 11 times in 14 years and finished ranked number 2 nationally one season. He's the best we are gonna get and he was in the top 3 of the sec for over a decade. In what world have we had better?

5 west titles 2 tournament titles and 1 overall conf title. His wiki page said 8 I guess they counted the tourney and overall title as more. You know how wikis are.

The thing is he wants the job he's a solid coach and a proven winner in this league. He recruits louisiana as well as anybody and we will not get anyone better. You should know Alleva by now and if he goes another route we will be stuck with a bum. All these coaches like wojo Collins Kermit Davis drew and miller are never gonna come here. We missed out on White we missed out on Drew because Alleva kept jones after last years mess. I agree Rick Stansbury is not coach K or even close but for someone who wants to be here we will not find better.

He wouldn't be the worst hire in the world and he certainly would be better than Jones. He just wouldn't be my first choice though.
With Alleva in charge, he might be the only choice and nobody else will be interviewed.

Ole Snow Peas doesn't seem like he's very good at selling LSU to prospective coaches and negotiating with them for their services.

Well, that's what we've seen out of him so far, so why is there any reason to think he's going to change?

This is true he's a successful coach and interested. If he's not the guy and Alleva has to find one it will be another disaster.

I did, only I checked all 9 games not just 8.

I'm just saying Stansbury is the only coach Trent outcoached on multiple occasions and with much less talent. You saw those garbage rosters Trent had his 2nd and third years and he went 1-3 in those years beating him at State with much less talent and losing twice by one point at home.

Even 2009-2009 State was picked before the year to finish higher than LSU with talented shot blocker Varnado and Dee Boost and others. But as was the case Stansbury's last 4-5 years his teams underachieved most if not all of those years after he lost the lead assistant who was his saving grace.

Even if you give him all the credit for the recruits A&M has been getting, and I think that's debatable, they are still 1-5 this year with the only when against us.

If an aging re-tread who was outcoached multiple times by the one of the worst coaches in our history and squandered some talented teams in his last years, is the best we can do, I'll just as soon start going to gymnastics events this time of year.

Stansbury would not be my first choice, but he seems preferable to what we've got!!

With our current AD and fiscal health of the state and university, I'm not sure what we could get.

I'm tired of mediocre and worse basketball. We should shoot high, IMO. The current mix of apathy and anger concerning men's BB is palpable.

Well Wojo hasn't done anything to make us interested in him and Kermit Davis would definitely take this job. Drew and Miller no.

He wouldn't be my fifth choice but I agree, he would be preferable to what we have now, and that's about as far as I would go. Being better than what we have now is not the endorsement I'm looking for.

Let's go young, enthusiastic, energetic and with some personality. Someone who can engage the fans who left years ago and get the students back on board.

I'm not saying I want Stansbury, but he was a good coach and didn't become the 9th winningest coach in SEC history because he had some good assistant that you can't name. And if an assistant is that good, he won't be at a place like State very long.

Stansbury won the SEC West on average once every three years (which was excellent). He was great in the SEC tournament, but very unimpressive in the NCAA tournament. He is way better than JJ will ever be and I'd take him in a second over JJ, but I'd like a younger coach with something to prove as well.
