Kind of negative Nancy here so frick off.
Regardless Laird has been an outstanding Tiger and I'm thrilled to have had him on the roster through the years. Props to his play.

apparently some people think you make good money in the minor leagues

Just look at Jared Mitchell and his struggles with his talents. I don't think there is anything Laird could do that Jared couldn't and he is struggling to keep it in AAA after being a 1st rd pick.
jared mitchell has a huge strikeout problem. Even with that, he'll eventually have his cup of coffee in the majors, i do believe

Stevenson is the really interesting one

he was such a good player- don't know if he was that good before level of play caught up to him or what but that ankle injury was such a bummer

What sport does laird play?
Posted on 5/21/15 at 11:08 pm to LfcSU3520
yea definitely. And even as bad he has hit in the minors, he has still drawn walks. His OBP has been respectable.
Until this year. He's just playing terrible, it looks like. Hope he can rebound

Obviously not a good comparison they don't even play the same position. I was talking about altuve hitting well and not having power. If laird can bat .300+ in his minor league career he will most likely reach the majors somewhere and if he can hit .280+ and steal some bases he can play in the pros. It might be a long shot but you never know

the minors are the pros
If Altuve played college baseball he'd hit .650+ with 10 HRs.

It's still a terrible comparison. If he was on the same planet as Altuve as a hitter we would already know it.

was hoping I'd see him play in Spring this year to see what he looks like now approach-wise.

I sat next to his dad tonight at the game

Mark has had a solid career at LSU. Hats of to him and good luck in whatever he does.

I'm just not sure how his offense will translate into pro ball

He's a winner; if he doesn't make in the big leagues, he will make it doing something else.

Nothing wrong with making 100k+ for a few years while finsihing up his degree.
Making $100k doing what?

If he can make it to the bigs all depends on hitting for average, stealing bases and playing good defense. I'm pretty sure altuve didn't hit any more than 8 home runs last year and he was an allstar.
Laird doesn't hit anything to the warning track, much less close to an actual homerun. Altuve is on an entirely different level.
