At the end of last season, people had him penciled in as the starter over Boutte.

During spring, I read an article about his battle for the starting RG spot.

Now it seems he's been passed by true freshman Teuhema. It's just been quiet. Anyone have any info?

Love the kid in interviews. Speaks his mind.

He's a great person will be a great leader soon. He will also get playing time. But got beat for the spot.

he's in the two deep...apparently Teuhema is our 6th best o-linemen. Dodd, Brumfield & Malone are probably 7-9....give him some time.

Developing a little slower than anticipated, but still developing...his time is coming.

For one thing I heard Clapp has been extremely impressive. Couldn't keep him off the field. He will lead team in pancake blocks.

Clapp & Boutte may have a side bet going on who gets the most pancakes.

Keep in mind that there are two spots opening up next year on either edge. If Pocic stays-and there's a ton of smoke that based on family academic expectations and achievements (nevermind a smoking hot Louisiana-based girlfriend)-that he will, he'll slide to Tackle and some are saying Tehuma will as well.

With Clapp being a technique refinement or adjustment away from being our starting Center already, he'd ostensibly slide out to take over for Pocic's move, which would clear the way for a guy like Brumfield to move into a Guard position (more than likely it would be RG as I think Boutte would move to LG for 2016).

All projections and conjecture here, but my guess is he's starting by next Fall.

They had better do this season--by 2016, Teuhema may be ready to lead the team in pancake blocks.

What makes you assume Boutte would be fit for the left side? Isn't he in the 340-350 range? Seems destined for the right side (less agile)....

Teuhema was good enough that we offered his 3* older brother (who isn't doing too bad himself) to make sure we got him on campus.

Both he and Brumfield will get their chances to play. Probably next year.

Clearly Teuhema is at least #6 and I believe may sub in at one or both guard spots even against SEC teams. Apparently Weathersby has made a good impression on Grimes as well and maybe battling Malone, Dodd, and Brumfield for that 7-10 positioning.

Conditioning and technique (he's a natural knee bender and has had trouble sinking his hips consistently from a technique perspective from what's been said) have been the big issues with Boutte according to what I've heard. Being a fulltime starter this year is going to teach him-in a way that practice reps and Spring Ball simply aren't able-what it means to be ready to play SEC Football from a conditioning perspective.

So either from experience this year or natural progression, I think he'll be better off in 2016 from an experience and conditioning perspective for next year (I know that's a stretch but this is an entirely hypothetical conversation to begin with anyway). If indeed he is, then when you stop and take a look at LSU under Miles, he's always had a dominant player at Left Guard, and when he moved La'El out there as a Junior and Senior, he switched Vadal from RT to LG in order to help the Center with pre-snap assignments and alignment recognition. You even saw him set the line and give Porter-a multi-year starter himself-the signal to snap once the line was set last year.

Makes me think that Miles places an extra special emphasis on that spot (heck tons of teams do; Miles would be no different in that respect). Which would make me want to put as much experience in a spot like that as possible.

Hence my educated guess that Boutte goes to LG in 2016.

No doubt in my mind that he stays. He comes from a good family that is normally at every game. They aren't in need of money and a degree is high priority to them.

Nowhere

We just have an elite OL with great depth and upper class men ahead of him at the moment. Just has to bide his time. And his time is def coming.

He seems like a fine kid but he was never going to beat out Boutte this season. By all accounts Boutte is now the most dominant OL on the team.
