My heart hurts for Andre. You could see how much it meant to him at the final buzzer. Such a heartbreak. Let him knows we've got his back.

Sadly, you are always going to find some ridiculously dumb stuff on here, but stuff at the level quoted above is the minority. Seriously, there used to be threads on here that bitched that Garrett Temple is not an SEC player and that he only had a scholarship because of his last name and friendship with Glen Davis. People bitched about Marcus Thornton being a ball hog his first year here out of junior college. If the rant had been around in the late 80s/early 90s, you would have had threads trashing Shaq. You can find that stuff but it is not the consensus.

I think there is a good deal of the fan base that really appreciates Stringer. I wish basketball were bigger at LSU so guys like him would get more of the respect that they are due. He has had a great career at LSU.

I dont think andre gets singled out more then anyone else. Maybe you are a little too close to the situation? Now players in general getting beat up on is the real issue imo. No one feels worse then they do after a loss like this. But la isnt very big on basketball so you get a ton of uninformed opinions on the rant here blasting out opinions. Take everything for what it is.....

He gives us what he has which is all that you can ask. Having said that LSU has been hampered by the fact that our guards are tiny.

Nobody is perfect and anybody that knows the game of Basketball will tell you not one play loses or wins you a game. Bad shot here, turnover there, Missed box out here, missed free throw there, All the Kid has ever done at LSU is play hard and give it all he has, has never taken a game or play off, had good and bad games like any player. Never complains never had any discipline problems, handles himself with class for 4 years, but he's always been the fall guy, always the worse player. This kid is crying his eyes out because he wants to Win. I've always been the first to speak to Andre's Shortcomings. I also realize what he's accomplished He's a 5'8 basketball player playing against Giants and he will score over 1300 pts for his career and will probably end up 2nd All-time in 3'S made in LSU history. That doesn't happen if you suck. Ralston got a pass, Darenbecker got a pass, Hickey, Job, everyone gets a pass but Dre always gets Murdered...and believe me I understand this is a public forum and he deserves and can be ridiculed but to speak on this kid like he's scum is not right.. P.S. a freakin classic game and effort by these guys, after two bad loses they could have packed it in, but they came out with effort and went all out. Dre and Hickey was allowing way to much penetration from up top and that hurt us on some possessions have to tighten that up.
Sure, he's a good scorer, made some clutch 3's, kept us in games when our poor shooting team couldn't hit the side of a barn, plays hard, etc., but he's a severe liability on D as are all guards his size. And when he's got the ball with 10 seconds left with the game on the line, he's rarely gonna get up a clean shot under 30 ft. with 6'5 guards defending him. I've said over and over that we've got to stop recruiting 5'10" guards. It just doeesn't work in today's college game.

I think our tiny guards have been more asset than hindrance this year, and definitely yesterday. 30 points, 10 assists and 4 steals between them.

There are other issues weighing more heavily on this year's team than guard size. Even when we have Quarterman or Coleman in at guard the defensive issues are the same, and have been all year.

For once I agree with Lester Earl. Every one wants to be the hero, but u have to give the ball up to a wide open player for the win.

I'm sure we work on end of game scenarios just like every team. But like so many things with this years team, they are not executing them correctly.

I like that Hickey isn't scared to take the last shot, but that's the 3rd or 4th game this year where I gotta think there were better options available than the shot he took.

CJJ has got to find a way to get his point across more effectively and hold players accountable more effectively when the same mistakes are made over and over and over.

Proud of the effort and fight. Hope we can finish playing that way from this point on. I hope we don't start the first half at Vandy down 10.

Andre shouldn't shoulder the blame for this loss. Team effort, Team Loss. JOB was gassed at the end, Anthony has to LEARN to trust his Teammates when the game is on the line. Mickey has hit a wall. And they MUST play with more intensity on DEFENSE. Because Defense is all about EFFORT, moreso than Talent.

The defense lost the game. I think it worked better with Coleman at guard. Not to knock dre but he played too many minutes. Should be put in strictly for scoring. More of a coaching problem.

I definitely do not blame Andre Stringer, especially in this loss. He always play like a Tiger and I'm proud to have him in our team. Geaux Dre and Geaux Tigers, show your stripes the rest of the season!

I agree with this.
Sit them when they make a mistake or show no effort. Don't let them go out on offense, which is where players want to be. Let them earn their playing time.

Hard, if not impossible to do of course, when you are not deep off the bench. It's a risk during the game, and a strategy not really available right now, I wish it was. Maybe the players realize that?

How was that possible last night when we were without Morgan and TQ? Who would you've put out there instead? Coleman is often needed for the 3, especially if Martin isn't on form for that game.

Andre Stringer is the man. Anyone who says otherwise is a piece of shite.

Got you and your bro's back Michael

Yeah Brit, with Morgan out and yesterday with Quarterman out, it's nearly impossible. I actually think for this game we got a better result playing our best players more and not forcing a rotation as some games Quarterman has had some struggles and stemmed some momentum.

But if you don't have the playing time whip you may just have to chew some arse. I know it's not Johnny's style and I'm not saying you gotta go Bobby Knight or Calipari all the time, just a well placed butt chewing can sometimes get their attention.

I saw Johnny get on Hickey pretty good once yesterday. A little more of that I think might be a good thing for CJJ.
