If you grew up in Louisiana, you can't help but root for LSU. Went to Tulane because my parents didn't want me to be too far from home (Yes, they consider the distance from Covington to Baton Rouge to be too far). LSU is always in my heart and so is Tulane as that is my alma mater.

Spent 7 of the best years of my life going to school there and by some kind of miracle was able to get out with two degrees and a job!

I have been a fan since Burt Jones threw a last second TD pass to Brad Davis to beat Ol Miss in 1972, and my dad drove off of the road in his excitement!! I have been a fan ever since and have represented LSU around the entire world with 21 years of Army experience.
Some of my sons first spoken words were "eellssuuu roorrr" (LSU roar, growling like a tiger) as he pointed to the LSU sweatshirt that I would wear while pushing him on the swing. That son is now a Junior at LSU, and prominently represents me in the student section at each home game, and some away games.
I send a great deal of money to LSU each semester in order for my son to graduate from there.
I'd say that these two examples, as well as many more, qualify me to be a fan of LSU, even though I didn't graduate from there!

I had quit swimming when the new pool was built. Were you on the team when the bubble was damaged?

I believe that the Y Bolts (our hated rival) merged with the LSU Bengals and became the Tiger Aquatic Club?

I loved swimming but it was so time consuming and quit b/c I played baseball, football, soccer and basketball.

I always followed but never got to go to a game as a kid. When I finished HS, my then GF went to LSU while I went to Tech College. I started going to games with her in the student section. When I finished school, I moved to BR for work and lived @ Beau Chene apt's behind the AM Mart (awsome samiches) with friends who were at LSU. Thank god I was working 4-10's during those days. Anyway, when I was in BR i would go to about 5 home games a year. These days though I am more interested in the game and not just partying I only get to go to about 2-3 a year. Me and my wife plan to get season tickets when the time is right. Building family at the moment.

I tried tackling Chad Lavalais in High School. I was a very undersized LB. Needless to say I got steamrolled. He was a TE in HS.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I remember that. I think I started in '77. The Baton Rouge YMCA were our intown rivals, but we evetually merged to form the Bengal Tiger AC. The Bolts were a team out of the N.O. area that were our major rivals. They were too big (and good) for us to beat until the merge. I kept swimming through high school (BRHS -'87 state champs WHOOP!).

I am the only one in my family that went to LSU. But my family have been going to the games since the 1940's and we still have the same tickets in the stadium.

I grew up purple and gold and went to my first game when I was 6 and we tied Nebraska 6-6. I used to cry when they lost. Will never forget USC 1979.

My Grandfather was an LSU grad. I grew up during the rough years of Archer / Curly - so I remember him constantly yelling at the TV. (I guess this is genetic)

In HS, I made several trips to LSU games with friends (stayed overnight and partied with older friends attending LSU) and fell in love with the atmosphere. Believe it or not, I was a UF fan at the time and would catch hell for this in coming years at LSU.

My senior year in HS was 1995 (bring back the magic) - Freshman year at LSU (1996) - That first game as a student indoctrinated me for life. (Faulk's comeback vs. UH)

That year when UF pounded LSU, I was revolted and now figuratively spit on all things Florida. 1997 was bitter sweet as many of my friends who knew my previous like for UF gave me hell and I deserved every second of it.

I loved LSU so much that I eventually graduated with a BA in Dec. 2003. I tell people that I was holding on for the MNC.

I am sure we know each other. Yeh your right about the bolts. I have a lot of great memories from swimming. I got my arm stuck in the revolving door at HPL and the Fire dept and police had to come and pry the door backwards.

I am not sure why but alot of the team swam for Kenilworth in offseason and we would just destroy all the other neighborhood teams. It really wasn't fair.

Wasnt a really big fan until December of 1999, when I helped Cecil Collins climb through the window of the chick he wanted to watch sleep while he was in Florida. On the way there, all he talked about was what a great time he had at LSU while sleepwalking into the other 2 girls rooms.........I was hooked after that!
