The last time I sat in the upper deck, it sure sounded like the Gumps were piping in crowd noise through the speakers behind me. It could of been my imagination and / or the alcohol.

I thought their fans pretty much sucked at the 2011 game. 2 older ladies we sat by for the game were the only tolerable ones.

very nice campus, and the fans are very friendly tailgating..after the game, not so much. Very hostile..... The video board and yelling over the PA is VERY annoying. 2 years ago, the strength coach, yelling on the video board to pump up the crowd, got more playtime than the game. Very much an NFL game type atmosphere..... have fun! Yell loud!

This is also my experience.

I have attended just about every home game there since 2009. Usually, the games are blowouts, so the crowd is excited for the opening kick off, the first defensive series and the first touchdown, and then it dies down. This season, they have incorporated more of the strength coach shouting on the jumbo-trons and an elephant trumpeting sound on third down. It is kind of obnoxious, but every stadium has dumb shite like that.

My biased observation is that it seems like the crowd is tentative until victory is assured, then they get loud. During the Tennessee game, it was incredibly quiet until they held the lead in the waning minutes and then it got incredibly loud.

ETA: the loudest I have ever heard it was the 2009 LSU game when Julio took that screen pass, the first half of the 2010 iron bowl, and the 2011 GotC.

It's okay. They are a bit of an aggressive fanbase, not as into having a good time and enjoying themselves as some other stadiums. When I went in 2005 I almost got into it with a couple fans in front of me right after Russell threw the winning TD to Bowe, and I wasn't talking shite just cheering and some guy and his father tried to start shite with me and my friend. They weren't rednecks just normal dudes, but man when they are down or on the ropes their fans gets pretty tight-necked. Have fun, but be safe. Their tailgating is pretty solid.

Concessions average (better than TS but not good so eat before)

Atmosphere lots of piped in rap so loud you can barely hear any of the bands and some roided up strength coach yelling ITS TURD DOWN, during third downs

Lots of figs shaking their pom poms. Lots of videos to get the crowd pumped.

Quieter, slightly more timid. It's like until that clock strikes 0:00 they are terrified to lose.

They were all crying after we beat them in 05' in the overtime game as we were walking out. That is the only place I have ever seen opposing fans cry after a simple football game. The atmosphere reminds me more of the NFL and is much different than other SEC locations like Oxford, Baton Rouge, or Gainesville.
