Would you rather have an undefeated season, but lose in the National Championship?

-OR-

Would you rather go winless, and win the CFP Championship?

It's obviously a hypothetical, but it will show which people value championships more than overall wins.

I realize I'll get ripped for this, just thought we could have a little civilized discussion.

This is about as moronic a scenario as possible.

How the hell can you win a playoff, which requires you to win in order to advance, without actually WINNING?

How can you expect a civilized discussion when you are talking about nonsensical bullshite?

So like every other team forfeits their season?

You wouldn't get ripped if you presented a reasonable scenario, like 3 losses but a CFP championship. But this is just ludicrous.

GeorgeRamond answered honestly... He would rather lose every game, but win the championship instead of winning every regular season game and losing the championship.

The point? The point is that this is a terrible thread and you should feel bad for creating it.

No, we got the point. You just resented it in perhaps the most idiotic way possible.

Of course, any reasonable person would prefer a championship. But how exactly is team that goes winless going to do that? I'd love to see your explanation for that.

I mean, for gods sake, did you even read the question after you typed it.

You probably should of said

Would you rather get to the National Championship and lose, or not get there at all?

Most of my buddies up here in Columbus would rather get there and lose then not get there.

I used to think a one loss team that just missed out but ended with a high end bowl game win was the way to go.

But, the playoff has changed that for me

Jeez no shite. It's not even reasonable though. At least say something like "go 14-0 and lose in natty or 10-2 and win Sugar"

For the sake of argument, I'm taking the championship. No matter what a team did during the season, championship teams are always remembered more fondly. This is actually possible in basketball (winless regular season, win SECT, win NCAAT), and I'd take the championship there too.
