Cheer you are a respected poster and I appreciate your good work on baseball and have thanked you many times for your efforts. The OP's scenario is only possible if every team is included in a conference tourney in that sport, but a team with no wins has never remotely come close to a championship in anything. In most sports a team with no wins is more rare than an undefeated team. Theoretically possible as it may be, you have a much better chance to win a large lottery payout. Any sport that doesn't allow every team in some type of qualifying tourney is eliminated immediately. Cheer you are better than this and the OP should post less.

I respect you but the OP said CFP which I assume means college football playoff. By definition the 4th or even the 64th team will not be winless. I agree with other posters and I think this is what you were trying to convey is that yes I would rather be say 13-2 with a championship than 14-1 without one in college football.

For the sake of argument, I'm taking the championship. No matter what a team did during the season, championship teams are always remembered more fondly.

I agree with you. I wonder if any of the boneheads that complain about the 2007 team that won the national championship with 2 losses will post anything in this thread. There certainly seems to be alot of them out there.

I mean... I'm ok with hypotheticals (however useless they may be). But this isn't good at all, man. It makes no logical sense at all.

Would you rather have an undefeated season, but lose in the National Championship?

Would you rather go winless, and win the CFP Championship?

i'd prefer the championship... i'd also prefer to live in the shire over mordor... and lastly, i'd prefer you to pull your head out of your arse versus leaving it lodged there.

This is a thread you're better off deleting. This shiftiness won't soon be forgotten by the Rant.

I agree. I'd just delete this thread.

I won't skewer you for the ridiculous setup of a winless team making the playoff.

But even granting you that, the premise of your thread is rather absurd.

ANY team that makes the CFP is going to have a very good record.

So who in their right mind would mind a 2-loss season that resulted in a natty?

2011 was the greatest LSU team that I will probably see in my lifetime. It was so fun every Saturday to wonder what we'd do crazy this weekend. That schedule the players and leaders of that team. Championships are amazing but that team was arguably the best team in college football the last 3 decades for what the did until the championship game.

That would occur if you have something worth a discussion. Hypotheticals like this are less than stupid.
