Put your pitch forks down and unwad your panties. He just wants to see the players be out there for the anthem. He never directly blamed LSU or Mulkey. Most of his previous tweets were cheering on the WBB team. Take a chill pill, not everything has to be an outrage. Not everyone is out to get us.

He doesn't actually care.

He just wants the Trump supporters to think he wants that.

Jeff Landry is an idiot. He and the previous idiot running their mouths have hurt the LSU PR more than you can imagine. All he needs to do is threaten to end the program like Gov Toad did.

What did you say when JBE used the budget issue in spring 2016 saying if it was not resolved, Summer school funding would be hampered (which had like 35-40 LSU players scheduled to be enrolled) which could have impacted academic eligibility.

Playing politics with LSU sports is the same regardless if they have a D or an R behind their name.

I am not a fan of either one for the record, last decent governor in my view was Mike Foster. Every one since Foster is a zero in my book, including Landry.

did he really say that athletes should lose their scholarship if they didn't stand for the anthem? If so, that is a really dumb thing to say...

Landry took an unnecessary shot at LSU to score political points

Landry has always cared more about his career than the state of Louisiana. This is just the latest example. If you disagree, I’d be happy to list some others out for you

If he was talking about taking scholarships away in the name of superficial culture war crap then he brought it on himself.

not word for word, but that was the point he was trying to make

Actual quote was
quote:

If they don't want to come out for the anthem they don't have to play the sport"

Until this absolute moron is ready to also criticize Army/Navy for being in the locker room during the national anthem how about the Governor of Louisiana STFU about Louisiana State University.

100% correct. He used his AG position and politicized it rather than act as the Chief Law Enforcement officer and defend the State. The Duties of the LA AG are clearly outlined in a document provided by the AG office on their website.

Landry used it for his on political advancement.

It was stupid. He should have kept his damned mouth shut. Especially because he was clearly mistaken.

He didn't take a shot at LSU tho. He just said he thinks players should have to be out there. Im sure he thinks the football team should be out there too. I agree with him. Tiger rant has just been hyper-sensitive about mulkey and WBB. Calm down everyone its going to be ok

Which proves how little he knows. It’s not about “want to”. This isn’t a protest. The coach told them we go out after that national anthem, same as they always do.
