Expectations are going to be sky high. Championships aren’t going to happen every year. But recruiting should be off the charts and give us the opportunity to play in SEC championships and make the playoff more frequently than before if we keep a good staff. Obviously Brady probably won’t be here forever but I do believe Orgeron will get the best available when we lose coaches to the NFL or to other colleges as head coaches. I’d be happy if average a playoff appearance every 3 years. What about y’all?

New Year 6 Bowl pretty much every year. We play to good of a schedule to make the playoffs every single year, but we should hopefully be there more often than not.

Having a winning record against Bama this next decade. If that happens, Sec championship and playoff appearances will happen.

Given the way we're recruiting and the current state of the program, a NY6 bowl is the minimum each year.

I'm SO glad we got this title, because the pressure is different now.

My expectations are that O seeks to build on this momentum by even better recruiting results, does his best to hold onto these assistants, and maintains this positive vibe that has emanated from the team this year.

I don't want to be Bama or Clemson or anyone. Just want LSU to be everything it can, and to a great extent that's going to depend on the talent Louisiana high schools produce.

The problem I had with the previous coach wasn't that he lost 2 or 3 games a year. It was that he seemed stubborn and unwilling to change to attempt to make LSU everything it could be.

Orgeron proved that he is going to try to maximize the results even if it means being humble and changing.

I sure hope Joe's leadership served as an example to some of the younger guys on the team. That's the kind of thing that can have long-lasting effects.

This would be my MINIMUM expectation for LSU fb if I was ad:

1) NEVER have a season finish with a single digit in the win column.

2) Four playoff appearances every 10 years.

3) One natty every 10 years.

These are MINIMUM expectations for the LSU fb program we have now with facilities, resources, etc..

These expectations should/would be easily exceeded by any quality coach. (See saban at bama).

I'll say a range of 12-0 to 9-3 should happen annually, at least in those years that LSU plays a quality non-conference opponent (a little unrealistic to think you'll win those 100 percent of the time, especially if it's a home and home). 8-4 or worse reeks of a rebuilding year, something that's not the case with this program right now.

Certainly no shame in losing up to two conference games some seasons, given how tough the SEC West is and the fact that Florida is an annual SEC East opponent.

I also think LSU should be in contention for the West each year until November, at least, and finish no worse than third (worst case). Mind you, these are expectations for the program as it is now (excellent recruiting and coaching staff). Compete with Bama and account for a third West team to be a challenger (likely Auburn or A&M, who I see as being the most consistent threats).

Same...I want 10 wins and split games with Bama...
Try to never lose to Auburn and A&M

I can suffer a loss to the MS guys on occasion if they have a Dak type year

Yeah, that's not realistic in the SEC, especially in years you play a true OOC team. Hell, look at next year. Losses to Texas with their Senior QB, @ Auburn and @Florida aren't out of the realm of possibility. That could easily end up 9-3 with all 3 losses being to top 10 teams.

We play MINIMUM 13 games every year. We should never lose more than 3. Sorry.

I just want us to compete at a level consistent with our talent level. If we go out with a good gameplan against bama next year and lose a hard fought game, so be it. The thing I cannot stand is underachieving and wasting talent like we did for so many years. There is NO excuse for getting blown out by teams like Arkansas and MSU, or getting shut out by Bama in Tiger Stadium.

We play in a good conference and we are going to lose a lot

Still we should be very competitive in year 4

10-11 regular season wins. I still Don’t really see anyone in the west that should really be competing with us.

I also Want to see the offense stay the course.

If we can really just reload and keep the machine moving that would be great, but I think We’re going to have to adjust with a difference in talent. Brennan can’t be expected to be joe in every aspect and we have to maybe lean on the running game more.

I don’t want to become a BAMA fan where I can’t have any joy in College football if we aren’t perfect. I can live off this year for a while. I do expect us to at least be in striking distance of the Playoff most years. I could live with that because if we are in striking distance we will get there from time to time.

What a ridiculous statement. You're life sounds very sad if you wake up every day with this Ricky Bobby approach. Keep in mind just how difficult it is for the SEC Champ to get to the playoff.

Honestly,

Beat Alabama 50% of the time.
Beat Florida 75% of the time.
Beat Auburn 75% of the time.
Win the West every 3 years.
Win the SEC every 5 years.
Playoff every 5 years.
Win NC every 8 years.
NY6 bowl 5 out of 6 years

I’m good with 1 and 3. Four playoff appearances every 10 years is a stretch and would be by far the most successful run in LSU history. Since Saban came to LSU (20 years) we have finished 5 seasons in the AP top 4.

Keep in mind that you’re basically saying LSU wins the SEC 4/10 years. Part of the problem with the tiered expectations is that the best team we will face every year is in our division, and ALL other goals hinge on winning that game. You can’t expect to get to Atlanta and/or the CFP unless you beat them. Sucks to admit it, but the forst goal is having a competitive run with Alabama.

So Saban = “any quality coach”?

Nope. What I'm saying is any top coaching staff in Baton Rouge, (which LSU can DEFINITELY attract), will do what bama is doing or better. If the minimum expectations I listed above are not met by the staff at LSU, it should be considered coaching malpractice. If you ever get to see Jimmy Johnson comment on the LSU job, he will talk about it in similar terms, and I would hope you agree he knows more about college fb than you and I combined.

We should be able to make the SEC championship game at minimum next season with the talent coming back
