my brother is a Texas grad/fan and we were at the 2009 CWS together....That Game1 against Texas was incredible...it was the best and worst feeling walking out of Rosenblatt...I was on Cloud9 about the win and he was totally down and said "of all Texas losses I've ever experienced...football/baseball/basketball...this one feels the worst ever."

I was at work listening to that on the radio.
I remember Hawthorn saying

Dean hits a fly to left center.... one run scores two runs, game over......
We realy couldn't hear it all that great, and we were just looking at the radio thinking what

I was the bleachers down the left field line. I was so focused on the ball going over the guy's head that i didn't realize right away that we scored the winning run.

Where did he play, again? As a Twins fan, I remember him playing for Minnesota and then the Cubs.

RF, USC Trojans.

We heckled the guy all day, and he just kept hitting HRs and driving in runs. After his 3rd HR of the day, we gave him a standing O and were all . After the game (an LSU Regional win), he came over and was nothing but pure class with all of us in the RF stands.

I hate it when you have to respect opposing players.

I'm gonna go against the Warren Morris grain and say the 90's LSU/USC Regional battles. Jacques Jones and Geoff Jenkins were some very bad men.

Some great games in 1990. Seemed like Bret Boone got a hit every time he came to the plate that weekend.

#12 South Carolina @ (unranked)LSU in 2008. I went to the game after I had just finished taking my last law school exam. It was raining and LSU was down 7-0 after 5 and a 1/2 innings. LSU came back with innings of 3 and 4 runs, then tied the game at 9-9 when Nick Pontiff hit a 2 run pinch hit bomb to left field in the bottom of the 8th. South Carolina took a 1 run lead in the 11th and LSU came back to win in the bottom of the 11th by scoring 2 runs in a crazy inning. it was the 4th game of the 23 game win streak and I always felt it started that awesome run that extended the life of the old alex box stadium through regionals and super regionals.

Warren Morris of course i feel sorry for the youngsters who didnt see it

Yeah, this.

I've only charged off the sofa, out of the house, over the porch and around the yard twice. The first time was the Morris home run.

The second time was the '97 Florida football game.

...the difference is that I didn't have any clothes on for the Florida game victory lap around the yard. Long story short, it was a halftime bet with the wife. "Yeah, we're up NOW, but if we end up winning this game, I'll run around the yard in my birthday suit."

For the record, I did two laps that night.

but my second would be the first champ victory over Wichita State

The '93 game was pretty awesome too with Laxton sitting down what I think is still a record 16 batters.*

*obviously Morris is number one but I like talking about all of our awesome games.

In person, 1997 Regional against Long Beach. LSU was in the loser's bracket. Got up 3-0 early and knocked out their starter. LBSU brought in their closer in the 4th who'd never pitched more than an inning. LBSU rallied and the game was nip and tuck. He took the game to the 11th tied 7-7 gave up around 3 or 4 and just couldn't throw anymore literally. When he came out, every person in Alex Box went to their feet and cheered for the guys effort (LSU baseball fans = classiest fans ever). I believe he threw over 150 pitches. LSU won 14-7 in 11 and the rest is history.

Game was like 5 hours, Skip got tossed arguing a call. The game had everything you could want. I left physically exhausted.

On TV, Warren Morris walk-off is one of the greatest moments in any baseball game ever.

If ever there was a post that deserved to be a walk-off thread-ender, this was it.
