6. Playing in NIT(not in tournament) after 8 higher rated teams declined invitations.

Teams that declined have nothing to do with us getting in or not rantard. We were the AQ for the SEC.

First of all, it would be surprising - and funny - if anyone actually read these long threads.

But mostly, I find it amusing that the Will Wade Glee Club can complain, cry, stomp their feet, protest, clench their fists and create thread after thread, year after year...and they will never see the return of their hero.

He's gone. Forever. In the wind. A pear on a mission, never to return.

I think that's what makes these futile threads so cathartic for the Wade Glee Club...but so much fun for everyone else.

My question is when, not if but when, McMahon improves the program to the point that it surpasses Wade's, will the Douchewades continue to denigrate this accomplishment? Or will the Douchewades learn the proper way to eat crow, sauteed with a touch of Tabasco. I suspect we'd never hear from them again.

I'm hoping it can turn around in year 3-4 when McMahon can fully construct a roster the way he wants.

Wait, what? 3-4 years to create a roster the way he wants. God lord.

Will Wade's ELITE 9-9 record his last year in the SEC should get a banner. Underneath it we can put that he cheated.

My brother I'm not saying it takes 3-4 years to create a good roster. It can be done in one offseason.

I'm saying with McMahon's philosophy it's going to take 3-4 years. Something that we're all critical of.

Will Wade going 9-9 with Tari Eason and Darius Days
VS
Matt McMahon going 9-9 with Jordan Wright and Will Baker

X's and O's are "Just Pump Nut Cheerleader Fine" but his lack of charisma and questionable recruiting ability are big question marks.

I'm fairly patient, but McMahon has one more season to get the light switch turned on and the engine running smoothly or it's "Farewell and Adieu." (Tim Golden at Florida might have been a better option if you're only interested in hiring those Mid-Major range of coaches)

So what is your point? You aren't making any sense

Well Dave it's about context. When I typed "My Point Is" it was followed by my reasoning.

Again, my point-

Tigerdroppings’ knee jerk reaction as to McMahon's coaching ability.

Reasoning as to why we shouldn't be overreacting-

His success at other coaching stops with and without all star players.

Other great coaches in the league struggled initially. (Pearl & Barnes)

He has been as successful as Wade in NCAA tournament.

To your points-

Wade didn't coach that team during the tournament, so you don't know how it would have resulted. Hence, I'm not giving him credit for wins in games he was not the coach.

Also, I never said I didn’t believe Bedford is better than Wade and McMahon or that McMahon is better than Wade. That's your hypothetical not mine.

It's a message board. Every thread is "futile" in terms of making a difference. It's just a forum for discussion. And like it or not, there is not a lot of positives to discuss when it comes to the current state of the basketball program relative to where it was between 2017 - 2022 when LSU was a consistent NCAA Tournament participant during that time. Something that the program simply had not been for 30 years.

Regardless of what coach came in last year he was ALWAYS going to be compared to the previous coach because he had set a benchmark for success. No fans are ever excited to go backwards in terms of success. That's why you saw guys like Laval and Orgeron quickly be removed when the program went backwards.

What has made things more disheartening is that the former HC is back coaching, with relatively minimal restrictions, at an in-state school. And not only is he coaching again., he's just led that school to the NCAAT and the biggest single-season turnaround of any program in the country this year. That then leads to the obvious question "was the firing really necessary?" Would LSU have been better off eating a few years of sanctions rather than making a change and quickly declining with no end (today) in sight?"

Every LSU fan hopes McMahon can succeed. They WANT him to succeed. Yes, even the guys who are his biggest critics because they were LSU basketball fans before his arrival and will be after.

Our best tournament run with Wade came when he wasn't even the coach. Those wins went to the interim HC and this can be seen on sportsreference.

Keeping this in mind, Wade had more top 10 recruiting classes than NCAAT wins while at LSU.

Says Dave who offers nothing to the contrary other than a straw man argument about a TCU coach that has nothing to do with points I raised.
