Main reason? My dad has the tickets.
But, I agree with a lot of people on this thread that, in the long run, it's cheaper to go to Stub Hub for the LSU Bama game than it is to buy season tickets.

ETA: my main example was the 2004 football season, that was gawd awful, out best home opponent was an unranked Bama team.

Any information on if LSU will allow the transfer of season tickets again like they did after the 2003 season?

When did this whole schedule quality thing start becoming such a big deal? I just looked at every schedule over the last 20 years, and most of them had two shite games. That wasn't even counting Rice or Tulane, which I give a pass to for being "traditional rivalries." Yeah, it's more noticible since the schedule went from 11 to 12 games, but OOC has seldom been stellar. In fact, some of the best non-conference schedules have been in the last 5 seasons.

The same people crying about a shitty OOC schedule are the same people that cry that our schedule is too hard.

I go tailgate Saturdays and never have a ticket, yet I always go to the game for less than face value. That's why I don't have tickets. Never sat in upper deck either.

bingo. only sit on sidelines and have yet to miss a game in 5 years. most ive ever paid is face value.

20 years ago there was no TAF and it didn't cost a $1000+ for a season ticket. It's pure cost/benefit analysis. No one really minded the Rice, Tulane, Idaho, etc. games because because the cost of the tickets weren't that bad. Flash forward to today, and your paying exponetially more (even accounting for inflation) for games against the same level of OOC opponents. While 20 years ago, paying $20 - $30 dollars for a game against Rice probably wasn't seen as outrageous, you get closer to that line when you're effectively paying $80-$100 (which includes the TAF fee) for the same game.

HD, and all games being televised, has lessened my desire to attend ALL games.

I can find them much cheaper by buying individual game tickets

Led HD big screen, making my own food, beer is cheaper, no bathroom line, and I don't have drunk idiots around me bitching about our defense sucking although we are on offense.

Even that doesn't compare to being in the stadium. Example 2007 lsu vs Florida

I won't pay to see Furman. I'm only interested in the real games.

Yeah, nothing like being in Tiger Stadium to listen to and rub elbows with T-bags who cheered when Lee got hurt in 2008 or boo when Jefferson came in to run a play in 2011 after sitting out four games for a fricking misdemeanor.

If you are a real LSU fan, all of the games are REAL games. I've had season tickets for nearly 50 years and in my opinion there is no greater sporting experience.

But I can understand where the tepid fans out there are coming from. Yes it is crowded in the stadium, and it is hot most of the time, and the restrooms aren't the best, and the parking is a nightmare comparable only to the traffic, and it you believe that it is cool for you to look down your nose at the competition.

Going to the games isn't as important to you as wearing your LSU gear, strutting around the workplace after LSU wins, pretending that you are above it all, criticizing everything, making sure that you are comfortable and well fed someplace else, and generally showing distain for the low lifes that brave Tiger Stadium.

I am a proud low life

I have two parking passes. They are much more valuable than season tickets.

I don't have season tickets of "my Own" because the renewal rate is like 98.6%. I have been on the waiting list for 5 yrs.
